We have been to Milner Gardens several times on previous trips to the Parksville/Qualicum Beach area and each time we go, we see something different. It is a lovely spot with a fabulous view of the water from the main house. At this time of the year, the spring flowers are in their glory although we understand because of the... More

We had a nice time tromping around Milner Gardens. There were lots of flowers blooming and they keep the grounds in pristine condition. I see that the local university is responsible for the fine upkeep and there are many well-informed staff members milling around. We stopped for delicious tea and snacks in the tea house. It was very cute without... More

The light display was wonderful and the caroling was lovely. We had a very mild winter in the west and it was easy to walk through the gorgeous Christmas atmosphere. A wonderful way to get into the Christmas Spirit.

My husband and I stopped here on a whim just to see. We were told we should do afternoon tea in Victoria but the price was ridiculous so we tried the tea here and so happy we did. It was quaint, quiet, secluded and not expensive. The ladies serving the tea, and crumpets were so sweet and lovely. The Gardens... More

We are glad you stopped by and enjoyed your visit. The Tea Room ladies are an amazing group of volunteers, always lots of great laughter and energy there. Sorry the labyrinth wasn't what you expected, but good to hear you liked the rest of your visit. More

Definitely worth stopping for a walkabout. Lovely old, established gardens with unique flora including some very large rhododendrons and unusual trees. The lawn in front of the main house is just stunning, with views of the ocean. (While we were there, we saw a deer walking along the beach down below.) This is a great place for young kids right... Milner Gardens is stunning. It is at its best during the Rhododendron Bloom in spring, but delightful any time of year. The sweeping sea view is wonderful, and the selection of specimen trees is the best in the central island area. Look for the Davidia, the Spanish Chestnut, and the Clerodendron. Veronica Milner painted her garden and her gardens are... More

Don't miss a visit to Milner Gardens, or better still - become a member! The grounds are beautifully located with gorgeous ocean views, and the house is quaint and picturesque. The volunteers do a great job enthusiastically relating the history of the property, and serving afternoon tea out of traditional bone china teacups - very civilized indeed! The lunches are... More

This unique estate is well worth the visit, supported by volunteers on a daily basis is to be commended! We came towards the end of the season, however the view over the water & décor of the iconic house was well worth the visit. If the walls could only speak of who has enjoyed there time in this home? Just... More

Most of the 70-acre Milner estate is woodlands. The gardens specialize in rhododendrons, which were not in bloom during our visit. Nestled in the privacy of the gardens is the residence (which once hosted Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana). It is a fabulous house overlooking a wide lawn and the waterfront. The gardens are intentionally designed in a “natural” arrangement,... More

Very nice well kept gardens but the best time is in Christmas time where the,(mostly volunteer) staff turn this place into a magical Winter wonderland, Carol singing, illuminated trees and pathways and the best of all.. one of the best Father Christmas Cabins south of the North Pole!
