A favourite spot to take a stroll on the beach as it is nice and sandy in this area. We often head there to take in the amazing sunsets over Passamaquoddy Bay as we only live a few moments walk from here. By far one of our favourite quiet places in town!

off season visit, the blockhouse was closed, but the info on the displays was fascinating. The 3 cannons on swivels were unusual. The views of the harbor were fantastic on a bright sunny day. Could have stayed for ever. This is the only surviving blockhouse on the shore. Kate in MN

This is the spot where I learned about the amazing tides of the Bay of Fundy. On our first visit to St. Andrews about fifteen years ago, we visited the Blockhouse and I noticed that the high tide came all the way up to the land. A few hours later we walked to the same spot and the tide was... More

We stopped here to enjoy the view of the water and to watch the changing tides. A quiet place at the end of town. As a historical site of The War of 1812, it is interesting to see.

Beautiful location, interesting site, near a great restaurant that is open non-stop til 8 pm. I liked the two guides in the Blockhouse dressed in period costumes. The War of 1812 has been neglected, and visiting this site made me want to learn more about it.

We had walked past the blockhouse many times on our few days in St. Andrews. It wasn't until after our 1812 walking tour that we finally stopped in. The staff were knowledgeable and painted a good picture of what life was like being stationed here. The entrance fee is by donation. At low tide it is a nice walk on... More

...but worth it. The structure is well preserved. The site also provides a great perspective of why the Britts picked the location.
