Highly recommend this 5 hour tour and stop over at Bold Castle. Romantic setting for weddings (there were 3 on our visit) and gorgeous grounds. Restorations on Castle are to period and phenomenal; story of family very interesting and there are staff through out the tour nearby to offer you details and explanations. Did not get to Boat house as... More

My husband, my daughter and I rented a cottage on Pickett's lane called, "Howe Beautifu"l for 7 days from July 14th-21st. We were really excited as the pictures and adverstisement of this cottage seemed beautiful. After settling in we realized a few things. First, the clean clear swimming water as advertised was not so clear. There were weeds growing up... More

We really enjoyed our visit to Thousand Islands region. We did not have a chance to go on a boat tour but had a picnick in a beach area and stop along the 1000 Islands parkways for may nice views. We also went to the top of the Skydeck tower (on Hill island before the Canada/US border) which offered amazing... More

Great place for a family vacation if you like the outdoors, but it takes some work to find good places to go to. We brought bikes because of the ads for the Thousand Islands bike trail. This trail is a sham and definitely not good for families except for very short rides. Much of it is highway shoulder or streets... More

Worth the time, beautiful, relaxing and so lovely to see by water! Take your camera, enjoy the view and record if you have that option on your i-phone. We had a beautiful sunny day, but even in the shade I'm sure it would be so worth the time to do this,!

Although this review mentions Gananoque, the 1000 Islands area is an overall outstanding region to visit. My family vacationed in the Ivy Lea area of the 1000 Islands at a little guest house called "Driftwood" for 20 years. "Thelma" (the original name of the house) was a prior Canadian Customs house and is owned by a dear friend of our... More

You can't go to Gananoque without taking the 1000 islands cruise. Best to do the 2 1/2 hour cruise but need to be in line 30 mns before departure because of the popularity of the cruise. Also, get under shade on the top deck - it's very hot inside.

A very scenic picturesque place to visit, fun for the whole family. We took the boat cruise and were able to see quite a bit of the islands. Take a passport with you if you want to get off the boat and visit the Boldt Castle, it's on the American side. Refreshments were available on the boat but don't go... More

Good value for the money, we took the 2.5 hour tour, perhaps a little to long for young children. Our grandchildren (10 and 11) found it over long. It was our 3rd trip and it changes every time you go. We will go again.
