Nice boats and great boat-rides as the 1000 Islands area is very scenic, but we were on the verge of walking with the attitude of the staff in the booking office who do not seem to understand that the business tourists bring in is what pays their wages! We arrived fairly late, but well before the final boats of the... More

A very good way to get around the area to see the scenery and islands on the Lawrence River, good easy parking near the ferry entrance and a tasty coffee shop at the end of the trip in the booking office

A three hour drive from Toronto to amazingly quaint Ivy Lea (just past Gananoque), is where you depart for the one hour 1000 Islands Cruise - Ivy Lea. There were four or five tours every day when we went (mid-October). You can buy your tickets online or at the terminal. The staff were friendly, the amenities at the dock were... More

Fascinating exploratory circuit through a portion of this beautiful series of islands. We took the two and a half hour trip, which goes all the way around Wellesly Island and turns back at Boldt Castle. In the summer they stop at the castle, but not on our trip. If you can get off at the castle you can tour that... More

This was a nice short boat cruise (we did the one-hour cruise) around Gananoque on the St. Lawrence River. There was a recorded narrative track that went along with cruise; however, on many parts of the boat it was difficult or impossible to hear due to the noise from the engine. The engine noise was not bad by any means... More

We took the 2.5 hr boat tour and really enjoyed it. This is the tour that goes around Boldt castle and we were happy to take it as it was very nice. The commentary is interesting but if you are on the outside deck it is sometimes difficult to understand. Our tour was not so full so we could easily... More

We took the 2.5 hours cruise trip at the end of September 2014. My wife and I are picky on these things, so we reviewed different locations and picked Gananoque with some doubts. I was impressed by hospitality of reception desk. A senior lady welcomed us in a friendly way and even waived the $2 for parking lot. I admit... More

In August we spent a couple of days in Gananoque and one morning we took the 2 1/2 hour boat ride around the 1,000 Islands. Since we had a beautiful day the trip was splendid. We saw many interesting cottages and homes as well as a variety of boats. We did not take the trip to Boldt Castle but would... More

We took the 5 hour Boldt Castle cruise and the experience provided a great overview the 1000 Islands. Boldt Castle is nicely restored on the first floor and the grounds. The crew was very efficient with the boarding process and ticket staff were helpful. If you want to hear the history on their PA system, you must sit near the... More

The small islands are interesting but it gets a little boring after a while. It is a relaxing cruise ride but I don't think it is worth the money and time. The audio guide that are playing through the speakers are a little bit annoying since it repeats itself in way too many different languages. You lost track of the... More
