In the heart of Alpilles, the monumental “Carrières de Lumières” host extraordinary multimedia shows which are unique in the world. Spectators are totally immersed in the images projected onto all the surfaces of the rock. The ground is completely covered, too, and becomes a vast carpet of images. The site has reopened its doors with the show “Gauguin - Van Gogh, painters of colour”, created by Gianfranco Iannuzzi with Renato Gatto and Massimiliano Siccardi.

If travelling between Avignon and Arles do not miss this very special attraction. An old quarry is used for special effects show, based on the paintings of renaisance artists. Come early to find parking, allow 1-2 hours for the show, and then 2-3 more hours for the village anf fortress of Les Baux-de-Provence.

My sister studied abroad in France, and when I went to visit we came to Les Baux. It is hard to explain, it's one of those things you have to see in person. Very unique, my mom said this was her favorite part of the trip! Don't miss it!

This is a worthwhile expo to be seen- it shows dynamic projections on stone across an immense gallery of natural stone - I highly recommend visiting this which is hosted until Jan 2016. Do not miss it!

One in a kind attraction, to my mind unique in its gendre. First the bad news. Be prepared to come very early as parking in Baux is extremely limited and you soon find yourself walking miles to get to the place. Secondly, as a former underground mine, it gets cold inside so bring a woolly jumper as it can get... More

After a HOT day traipsing around the Villages in the Luberon, these caves were cool, refreshing and totally exceeded our expectations. The music and visuals were superb. We saw the Italian Maters collection (da vinci, Rafael and Michaelangelo) and it was like being in the Sistine Chapel itself - but without the craning of necks! This is a must see... More

I have never been much of a museum guy. But for the first time in my life I was really able to enjoy art at its fullest. We visited the venue during the presentation of Renaissance artists Michaelangelo, Da Vinci and Raphaël. The way their paintings were presented was just awesome! Together with the classical music the art really came... More

This was a third visit - and as always a lovely way to cool down. It is basically an audio visual presentation made special by the large scale of the quarry halls. Projection is onto the walls and floor - about an hour for the main show and shorter film. There's a cafe outside the quarry now, a cool place... More
