Spectators are totally immersed in the images projected onto all the surfaces of the rock. The ground is completely covered, too, and becomes a vast carpet of images. The site has reopened its doors with the show “Gauguin - Van Gogh, painters of colour”, created by Gianfranco Iannuzzi with Renato Gatto and Massimiliano Siccardi. « less

I really didn't know what to expect when I bought the tickets. The picture in the brochure cannot reproduce the effect you get when you actually participate. This is an experience for your eyes and ears. You stroll causally throughout the indoor mine where each viewpoint to the immense audio-visual presentation, presents a different view. Only down side is that... More

Go out of your way to see this exhibition. It's stunning. I have been 5 times now and never tire of it. It's seriously jaw dropping. Immersed in all this glorious art/sound/light show is a pleasure not to be missed.

I was Beyond Excited to see the Carrieres de Lumieres. I had done the research of the hours and trusted that The Baux Provence brochure would have the correct opening and closing times, I read all the small print. In the brochure it clearly states that the Carriers de Lumieres closes at 6pm after Oct 4th. I arrived at exactly... More

We have seen this advertised before when we have been in Provence but this year we decided to go and WOW - it is hard to describe what a phenomenal job they have done to create the current exhibit which is the works of Gustav Klimt and Hundartwasser's paintings. It is totally breath-taking. The show lasts about 30 minutes though... More

Okay, so it's a broad carved subterranean hall and there are animations projected at the walls while music is playing... We did let ourselves be immersed by the show and remained for another, but I can't say it stirred any emotion or impressed me.

Spectacular surround sound and light show on huge walls of old quarry site, takes about 30 minutes; great to do if it’s raining! Popular so come early or late in the day (last entry is 6pm).

I just absolutely loved this spectacular of amazing art work with beautiful music to accompany the display. It is rather chilly when inside the limestone cavern, so definately bring a sweater. They feature different artists at any given time that has their art work displayed on the huge limestone walls. Music is played while watching this wonderful spectacular of artistry.... More
