Spectators are totally immersed in the images projected onto all the surfaces of the rock. The ground is completely covered, too, and becomes a vast carpet of images. The site has reopened its doors with the show “Gauguin - Van Gogh, painters of colour”, created by Gianfranco Iannuzzi with Renato Gatto and Massimiliano Siccardi. « less

Took the family, and everyone was very impressed. Amazing use of an old marble quarry, the scale and sound of which cannot be captured on film. A must see!

The reviews on this site are correct. You must do this if in Provence! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit for the Klimt show. The unique multimedia program displays various images of artwork on the inside walls of the enormous darkened quarry. The images change as accompanying music adds to the dramatic effects. So hard to put into words. Fantastic!

Words or photos cannot give you a feel for the experience of Carrieres de Lumieres! Walking through a darkened stone quarry with the works of famous artists fading in and out, projected on the walls and floors, make this a mid-blowing, must see stop.. The price is reasonable, I believe it was just 8 Euro and I would recommend you... More

The combination of Images and Music made for a fantastic visit to this site. Clever use of image projection and very good music choices presented in a very imaginative way. There are a number of different shows that you can see during the visit. It's hard to believe that you're inside a disused quarry. I would highly recommend this place... More

If in the area, I would go see this. They display art on walls, in repetition, in an old mine and the art is set to music. It is quite a large display. It was actually quite entertaining. Very different. Because the exhibit is in an old mine, it is quite chilly. There are uneven floors, but they do allow... More

It's a great idea to show massive slides on the walls of a darkened room but I felt it could have been done in a more imaginative way. Basically it was used as an art gallery and I am not a fan of the artists (Klimt and others) being featured this season until January 2015. The short film by Jean... More

This is a must do when in the Les Baux area. View the website and see if the subject matter is of interest to you, IF it is you must visit. Even if it is not, you still should visit. It is a very interesting quarry, turned into a multimedia gallery. Very cool.

Cannot be described; must be seen. Recommend to pick up the dual ticket for this and the castle, as you will want to see them both and the joined ticket brings a cost savings.

Thanks to the Provence Connection tour I managed to visit this lovely village. The travel guide that I read are right when they describe Les Baux as "the most dramatic village in France". It is imbued in medieval atmosphere as you can only walk through its streets (ruelles) because no cars are allowed. The attraction Les Carrieres de Lumieres is... More
