OK gift shop, stick to Tyrrell...

Some neat "kitchy" souvenirs but stick to the Royal Tyrrell Museum for more bang for your buck. For $24/family the amount of artifacts pales in comparison to the big Museum.

Thanks for the review. Our museum is a small fossil museum and not a replacement for the Royal Tyrrell Museum large fossils. Kids love our facility for it lets them do and touch things. We are going to make our facility more adult friendly for next season, be sure to come next year to see what we have added. Our... More

Not that cool.... We "dug for fossils" in their sand pit, but the coolest part was the animatronic T-Rex. We won't be visiting again...

Thanks for the review. We are sorry you did not have a great experience. During high season we are fully staffed. Our robotic T. Rex is one of the best in the world and we are glad you could appreciate his quality. It is the only one of its kind in Canada on a full time basis. We will be... More

This is a very kid oriented place. Animatronic t-rex , climbing wall, pan for rocks, etc. If you have kids 12 and under, a good place to visit

Thanks for coming to Fossil World and writing a review. We are both an activity centre for kids and a dinosaur museum. Our animatronic T.Rex is exceptional. We have a little something for everyone but as this reviewer points out our main focus is creative play education for kids age 3-12. Our fossils are different than those found at the... More

Its got some neat sights, but we had a 2 day family pass for Royal Tyrrel for $42 (2 adults 3 kids), it was $24 for this place and we spent maybe 2 hours inside, definately did not want to shell out the extra $$ for the 'extras' (mineral panning, pathetic excuse of rock climbing &dino dig). The only up... More

Thanks for taking the time to come to Fossil World. Most families with kids prefer to return to Fossil World. Our fossil and souvenir store is the largest in Drumheller and offers exceptional value not expected nor found at most tourism locations. We have many returning families for both the dinosaur and the activities. More

This isn't much of a museum and if you're an adult going in you will probably regret paying for entry. Two 5 year olds on the other hand had a great time! For $25 the kids get to rock climb with harnesses and a trained helper, mine for minerals and keep a bottles filled with them, dig in large indoor... More

Thank you for your response. We are an activity centre for kids, including fossil digging, mineral mining, wall climbing, a coloring area, ipads with dinosaur apps, play zone, and a dinosaur movie. We have an excellent fossil collection in our museum as well. Our trilobite collection is one of the best you will ever see. Many people appreciate the quality... More

This is the second time I've brought my boys to fossil world. (Ages 3 & 5) Both times the staff has been excellent. They spend time trying to educate the kids. The gift shop has the best prices I've ever seen. The only down side is its pricy to do the activities. The kids had a blast and I will... More

Thank you for your review. We have a high level of returning customers like yourselves. We also have a high satisfaction rate with our customers. We work hard to provide customers with excellent staff and the very best prices in town in our gift and fossil store. We are often complimented on how good our prices are. Look forward to... More

Although my family enjoyed the activities and the life like animatronic dinosaur. The price you have to pay is rather high for what you get. The tyrell museum is not nearly as pricey and you can get way more bang for your buck.

Thank you for your review. Our prices and value are very reasonable. For $12 a child can do a fossil dig, where our instructor teaches them about the real fossils they find and they can take home a quality real fossil with an information card. We are a hands on activity centre and museum with three activities for kids, fossil... More

This place is a complete rip off. You do not get what you pay for. $6.00 for each person admission for a "museum". Staff is not overly eager or enthusiastic which is disappointing for a place that relies on tourism. Our three and five year old did the fossil dig which we believed they would enjoy as they love digging... More

Thank your for writing a review. Even better we would have appreciated your saying something to us on site. Your experience is not typical and we disagree our centre is not worth a visit. In fact many customers state their kids have a better time here than at the Royal Tyrrell Museum. Each has its place. Most customers have a... More

Although it was expensive for a family of 5 (still under $100 for hours of interactive fun and learning) we took advantage of the mineral mining, where the kids got to mine for minerals and fill a vile with minerals to take home. We also did the fossil dig where they got to use a brush a bucket and a... More

Thankyou for taking the time to write a review. When you can take advantage of all the activities Fossil World is a real hit with the family. We like to say parents bring the kids in for the first visit and kids bring the parents back for subsequent visits. Our fossil and gift store is amazing, it is like a... More

Thank you for bringing the whole family and taking the time to write a review. Our goal is extraordinary family experience. When the kids are entertained, educated and have a blast the whole family has a great time. The fossils in our museum are there for the parents to enjoy while the kids play and learn through our creative play... More
