I went on a Wildlife viewing trip (which turned into whale watching) and a Grizzlies day trip with Gary at Aboriginal Journeys. Gary is a very 'tell it as he sees it' sort of guy and he runs the small, but sturdy boat on his own. What I really liked about my 2 days out was the fact that he... More

This was our first trip on Vancouver Island and set the standard for the rest. Garry is so relaxed and knowledgeable that you can't help but be transported into his world. We learned so much about the environment and it's inhabitants. Would definitely recommend.

Garry is an amazing guide, he took out 10 of us (6 adults and 4 kids under 7yrs.) and we we fortunate to see 4 pods of Orca whales (~18 in total), some transient and some resident, a dozen Dolphins, 20+ seals (white and dark ones) and many jumping salmon. Our trip could not have been better. Garry provides the... More

Our two families had an amazing day on the Ocean with Garry. We loved his stories and the passion he had about both the wildlife and the native people. Wee were fortunate enough to see several Orca and two males even swam right alongside our boat which was simply breathtaking. The boat was comfortable and the sea was calm as... More

We went on a 4 hour wildlife tour with Gary. He freely shares his extensive knowledge of the area. He clearly showed his ability to navigate his boat in the area including bringing us through a series of ocean rapids. Gary educated us about the local geography, economy, wildlife and history. He shared with us his experiences growing up and... More

Loved it. Saw a pod of 60-70 pacific white-sided dolphins today as well as a family of 5 'transient' orcas heading North. This was, for us as a family, literally a dream come true. We were touched by the authenticity of our host, Gary, and his respect for the local way of life and wildlife, and for his welcome and... More

Garry is so committed to showing off his backyard he'll do everything in his power to give you an amazing day. We did 110 miles in his boat over 7 hours and saw a 75 strong pod of dolphins, a humpback whale, plenty of seals and some bald eagles. We could have travelled up the coast to see Orcas but... More

We took the 6 hour wildlife tour, Gary certainly is very knowledgeable about the area and has tremendous respect for nature. We saw the bald eagle fest over the rapids which was a very unique experience. At times it felt like Gary was more interested in telling his own stories though which got a bit annoying towards the end of... More
