On the 29th of August we joined Garry, the owner of Aboriginal Journeys, and 8 others on an 8 hour Grizzly Bear tour. We booked this tour already in January from the Netherlands because of the good reviews on tripadvisor. From a small, well equipped covered boat we were very fortunate and lucky to see a diving whale, a group... More

Gary is a man with a story or two and he declares that 99 percent of them are true. He is the original grizzly guide in Campbell River whose love of his land, sea and all of its inhabitants is plain for all to see. He shares his knowledge freely but gives credit to its source as the First Nations... More

Amazing! Awesome! Simply Magical! Gary is the Wildlife Whisperer. We saw Grizzly Bears, White-Sided Pacific Dolphins, Orcas & a Humpback Whale. It was the best experience of our 3 weeks in Canada. I can't recommend this highly enough, and Vancouver Island was wonderful.

The grizzly journey far exceeded my expectations. There is a long boat ride out that Gary made very interesting discussing the sites and ocean currents. The location was loaded with grizzlys catching salmon. We saw about 14 bears. 2 mother bears that both had triplets. On the way back he found humpback whales. I'll remember this forever

This is a must ! We saw a male grizzly about 600 pounds, only 30 feet away. I thought that was exciting until we saw a mommy grizzly with her triplets. Seeing her running through the water and trapping the salmon. Then she shared her fish with her cubs. On the way back Gary had hear that there were some... More

What a great day we had with Garry. This was our second trip in two year and was even better than our first. Not only did we see a number of Grizzly bears and their cubs, we also saw a number of Orca Whales on route and over a hundred White Sided Pacific Dolphins. Garry is a great and knowledgeable... More

Garry's small boat (holds only 12 passengers) makes for a more intimate adventure into the world of Grizzly bears. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and also fun to be around. His boat is very clean & well kept. The lunch he supplied was great (huge sandwich, cookies & donuts). The Aboriginal person who accompanied us to the sighting spots was... More

We had an amazing day on the Grizzly tour with Garry as our knowledgeable and friendly guide. We saw several groups of Pacific white sided dolphins at different times as well as a small pod of orcas with a calf, we saw a humpback very shortly after leaving the marina, many bald eagles and of course five Grizzly bears (2...
