This park seemed a bit unusual, so we gave it a go. It was really interesting and varied, with planes, wildlife and scenery. We started with coffee and cinnamon buns at the cafe, and did the loop around the airfield. We were lucky enough to see some great birds, seals and even an otter.

The kids (and us adults too) enjoy going for walks at the air park and the (younger) kids enjoy playing at the playground. The playground has newer equipment and the soft rubber ground cover. The park is overall safe, but as always, use common sense. It's located next to the Courtenay Air Port (small planes and water planes), in fact,... More

The Courtney/Comox area is a beautiful place to visit. The walks, scenery, golfing and location were great. It would be a nice place to retire.

The air park is one of my favorite walks. It is an easy level walk on a paved surface. You can roller blade and kids can ride their bikes. We have encountered seals, a beaver, many birds including Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons, Kingfishers, ducks and geese. One loop doesn't take too long, you pass by a marina, children's playground... Loved seeing the seals in the river. Blackberries were almost ready unfortunately we were a little early and missed out. Everything is nicely taken care of and we loved pushing baby in the stroller. So relaxing. Perfect place to walk, jog or bike. Everyone respects the people walking the trail equally. Beautiful!

Walk was mostly in the sun--and was in the 90's, so very warm. Lots of pretty flowers along the way,

This year the Green Heron has nested beside the pathway along the Airpark. Walkers, cyclists, roller blade enthusiasts have all had the opportunity to witness the developing nest, chicks and soon fledglings! Mother heron has kept a close watch on proceedings, gathering her meals close by in the Courtenay River. Great walk for scenic views, seals and mink can occasionally... More

One can choose a brisk 20 min walk to get yourself moving or a 2 hour stroll to watch the birds and wildlife. It is kid, dog and elder friendly, there is something for everyone. The trail meanders through back eddies and ocean front. Truly beautiful anytime morning or evening.

Starting at the Rhododendron Gardens mid way on the Air Park Walkway there are parking facilites. This walk takes you to downtown Courtenay or south to Royston. If you choose the total walk can take 1-2 hours plus time you stop to photo the birds found all along this beautiful seaside trail
