We were looking forward to our Sunday drive and visit to the Abbey on a hot summer day. I checked the Abbey website and read several reviews here on TA before heading out. I knew from TA that no dogs were allowed; no problem since we don't have one. I packed a picnic lunch, a blanket, folding lawn chairs, garbage... More

upon arriving at the abbey there is a sign on the door that says that as this is a holy building, please do not enter if you are wearing shorts. Just keep that in mind if you intend ongoing into the stunning cathedral. Pictures of the ornate architecture if this cathedral do it no justice, so you'll want to go... More

Beautiful grounds with giant tiger lilys and flowers. Follow the path to amazing views of the valley, town, fields along the Frazer river. The church is beautiful. A priest that still lives (he's in his 80's) there made the candles on the altar, the crucifix. We were lucky enough to listen to them chant the noon prayers. We talked to... More

It was a nice stop on a tour of the Mission area. The flower garden is very well kept, and after a nice walk through a shaded path you end up at a lookout of the valley below. I love to hear the bells chiming in the morning...memories of being in France!

Definitely a place to see if you're in the area, especially if you like neat architecture. It was also neat to experience how others worship, live, etc.

An old abby first built in the early days of Mission... Very rustic and well worth the time to visit .

The Abbey is high above the Fraser River, the monks sing their mass prayers at 10 am Sunday, a must to hear. As you enter on the right is holly water in a waterfall fountain. After the service enjoy a leisurely stroll to a picturesque cliff top, munching on apples growing along the way.
