Loved browsing the shops on Baker, friendly people and beautiful, funky town. Great shopping, coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants.

Downtown Nelson is great but don't take your dog. The town for some reason decided that to get rid of "hippies" back in the Sixties (i.e. the people who now have all the money) that they would ban dogs, since the hippies always had dogs. The result of this is that you cannot walk your dog, tie up your dog... More

This is a very vibrant downtown. Lots of great shops and tons of restaurants with awesome food. Easy to walk from one end to the other. In the Summer the downtown restaurants open their patios to the public, its a great way to sit & have a bite to eat and do some people watching. Downtown parking is costly and... More

We drove through here on a cloudy, foggy, December day. Not shirtsleeve weather, and streetside vendors were not in abundance. But Nelson has some fine buildings.

Nice coffee shops and roadside taco bars in the sun (if the sun shines.). Beautiful fall colours in the trees.

Liked the ability to visit store after store of different genres. Disliked some of the prices - it's the kootenays, not downtown New York guys Liked the unique items to buy, and the store with the coconut matcha tea - yum Always something to find that suits your fancy!

The main shopping street has a mix of shops, from hardware to specialty boutiques, that's sure to have something to meet the needs and tastes of pretty much everyone.

nice to poke in all the shops but no deals to be had. Think the prices reflect that this town is seasonal so they have to make their money in the summer to survive the winter

loved strolling down Baker Street and exploring the stores and admiring the historic buildings and houses of downtown Nelson. Don't miss the Kootenay Craft Cooperative and the outstanding, nearby Oso Negro coffee shop.
