Parksville is a great Mid Island destination, it is a very safe town with practically every service and amenities available. One of its great attractions is the Community Park & State Park, a huge expanse with well kept grounds and a great sandy beach that when the tide is out it makes for a large area where you can picnic... This is a great place to bring the whole family to go for a swim, kayak, skimboarding, watch the fireworks on the beach, check out the the boardwalk, walking meditation through the labyrinth, check out the sandcastles, play volleyball, fly a kite or just listen to to free live music in the park on the summer weekends.

This beautiful park is right on the ocean, with playground, skate park, boardwalk, gazebo, refreshments, lots of green area with benches and play areas. Shade and sunny areas, sandy beach and green grass...can't be beat !

For what purpose would someone want to stand and play nerve grinding music from 11:00 am until 8:30pm is beyond me. When calls to the City were made they were met with an indignant attitude and basically told to 'suffer'. That we did indeed! I wish they would post the music line-up on their site so informed decisions can be... More

This community park offers something for everyone! The beach is a long, sandy one, with a boardwalk which extends the full length of the park. When the tide is out, you can walk for close to a kilometre (I think) out toward the water. And the water is WARM - warm enough to swim in! But that is just the... More

After visiting this beach on many occasions, we finally got there at low tide, and wow! A beautiful sandy beach as far as you can see! Fabulous views to land and complete openness. The sea fabulously clean, the water warm. Our little boy loved the play park, so many great things to play on, and a lovely sand floor in... More

missed having restrooms (under construction with go huts offered) Liked the food trucks and low tide at the close-by beach, too. Loved that the parking was free (another tourist was astounded)
