We happened to visit during the Sandcastle competition. It was by donation (recommended $2.50pp) and you were able to vote for your favourite. This years these was "Hero's vs Villains" and it was very interesting. The beach is massive and seems to go on forever. Great place for picnics and families. I wish our home had a community park as... More

We happened to visit during a pro sandcastle building contest. Awesome! The park itself is something to see and the beach is fantastic.

We always enjoy going to the beach here in Parksville. the beach is sandy and the water clear, warm and shallow for a long way. Depending what time of year you visit there is an annual sandcastle building competition that is always fun to see. There are great facilities here and we look forward to visiting again and enjoying the... More

I live closeby and I can't believe how lucky I am to be able to walk and visit here everyday if I want to. It's where all the action is happening esp in the summer after Canada day. This summer we have food trucks at a designated spot where you can grab a bite after a walk, swim, play beach... More

This is an amazing park. We've camped here for four days and watched the park be a softball centre for adults, a playground, skateboard park, water centre for kids, and even traded a book and magazine in the almost unnoticeable book trade post on the north end of the park. We've watched very good volleyball tourneys, gone through the arboretum,... More

This beach is what put Parksville on the map, and for good reason. It is a large safe sandy beach for all ages especially toddlers. The tide goes out for at least half a kilometer providing endless space to run, play, explore, and generally "be a kid" again. It's actually a large bay so when the tide comes in the... More

Parksville is a great Mid Island destination, it is a very safe town with practically every service and amenities available. One of its great attractions is the Community Park & State Park, a huge expanse with well kept grounds and a great sandy beach that when the tide is out it makes for a large area where you can picnic... This is a great place to bring the whole family to go for a swim, kayak, skimboarding, watch the fireworks on the beach, check out the the boardwalk, walking meditation through the labyrinth, check out the sandcastles, play volleyball, fly a kite or just listen to to free live music in the park on the summer weekends.
