My husband loves driving the 26km of paved switchbacks to the top and back down on our Goldwing, I enjoy the views and take pictures from the pillion seat. Just two weeks can make such a difference on what is flowering in the ditches and in the mountaintop meadows, we have been back many times to see it at every... More

A very well kept road takes you through this beautiful park. We saw our first bear here. Gorgeous waterfalls and emerald colored lakes. Also great walking trails.

Now that was well worth the drive. Go with clear weather. Allow enough time. Parking is at the top and then you can hike further up or take the shuttlebus. At the very top then are some longer and shorter hikes. Spectacular views.

We spent a very enjoyable afternoon in Mount Revelstoke National Park. At the time we visited (early June) the Meadows in the Sky Parkway was closed approximately 12 km from the entrance for snow clearing so we were limited on the trails we could follow but we thoroughly enjoyed the walk through Inspiration Woods - this took about 1.5 hours... Wish we had gone earlier! We arrived around 2 and figure if we had been there around 10, it would have made for a better day. The visibility this day was phenominal. So depending on which of the many hiking trails you decide to take, the views are spectacular. Many of the trails are only 1 or 2 km's so... More

We checked out the Nels Nelson ski jump trail, because the Meadows in the Sky Parkway was closed. It was a heck of a climb, and the trail is very narrow and rocky, but the view from the top is incredible, and looking down the hill its hard to imagine people skied down it on their flimsy 1915 skis. There's... More

Mt. Revelstoke is one of the smaller Canadian National Parks, but well worth a stop off the Trans-Canada Hwy for a few pleasant hours of hiking or just a drive up the "Meadows in the Sky Parkway" (which, unfortunately, was still closed for snow removal about halfway up at the time of our visit). There are gentle walks (e.g., at... More

There are great trails going up the mountains for the more adventerous or beautiful picnic areas like Skunk Cabbage Boardwalk when you just want to relax.

The difference in American National Parks and Canadian National Parks having seen Banff, Glacier and Revelstoke National Park, in Canada, you drive through them, there is no "park entrance gate. I had to stop and ask "Where is the National Park?" The scenery is all the same so after a few hours you have seen it. The mountains are majestic... More
