The sun shone, the gulls cried, cormorants and ducks were nearby, gardens across the road beautiful and ohh would I not have loved to take a piece of driftwood home.

One of the best things about the trail is that it is flat, because it is an old railbed. This makes it easy for cycling, strollers and walkers. The trail runs from city streets through farmland, past beaches, golf courses and historic sites. There are various places enroute to get a beverage or a meal.

Lovely, flat trail with no traffic through a beautiful area. We rode from Victoria and the trail is very easy to follow. We have used this trail to start multiday bike rides through the Gulf Islands and the Cowichen Valley.

This is a great trail that extends from Sidney into Victoria. A few sections are close to the Pat Bay Highway and a little noisy but otherwise a treasure. Bikes are available to rent easily in Victoria or Sidney. A nice detour is to Island View Beach where you can paddle or picnic. There is a bit of a hill... More

This is a very nice cycling trail. We picked up the trail from the Sidney Ferry Landing and rode it to downtown Victoria. It's about 18 mi/30 km to do that. It's about half paved (exclusive bike trail or shared with public roads) and half packed gravel. A good ride overall, but there are numerous road crossings in places, which... More

Very beautiful and exciting. Some of the best views in Canada Now if only Victoria airport would stop the constant cheap training school Cessna's from buzzing over constantly for hours and hours. The noise wrecks the experience.

Mostly paved with some small gravel stretches - fine for skinny road tires - no traffic - beautiful ride through rural saanich into victoria. Or pit stop at the Broadmead Starbucks, just about a mile off the trail.

Very scenic route for outdoor enthusiasts of all shapes and sizes to enjoy. Seems to go on forever, with continually changing sites along with way. Trees, water, grasslands, neighbourhoods. Something for everyone.
