Nice ride, good exercise and fun Sunday. Rode to Sidney and had lunch. Rode back and we both felt great. Easy ride, almost flat the whole way.

This is a wonderful trail through the country side of Saanich. You can ride from downtown to Sidney and have a few wonderful stops along the way. Be sure and stop and say hi to the pigs.

The bad: Biked the trail from Victoria to Sidney a few weeks ago, and to be honest I was expecting it to be a little more scenic! It essentially followed the highway for at least 60% of the trail which was really quite ugly and loud. Not the best recreational bike ride, but if you're commuting it would be all... More

Another great extended weekend trip to Victoria. Made our third cycling trip via this trail which is an easy ride with plenty of stops if you need them. Our usual stop for lunch in Sidney (so many choices) then Starbucks before continuing on. Michell's is a farm market where you can purchase snacks but we didn't this time. There's a... More

Take a hike or a bike to enjoy this lovely trail. It's very well defined and cared for and there's plenty to see. I loved the water views and the chance to see horses, roosters, pigs, cows, and deer. I was lucky enough to visit BC in August, so the blackberries are ripe everywhere and the leaves are just starting... More

I like the part that goes along the water. I wish it followed the water longer but still really nice

For the 8th time I competed the Lochside Trail last week. We have been doing this bike ride almost annually as a family and oftentimes with other families along. The ride is suitable for anyone (kids or aged) that is capable of sustained cycling for the distance 30km or so one way. On this last ride, my daughter who is... More

First let me say that we live north of San Francisco and are accustomed to spectacular rides. This is a rating for the Sidney area part of the Lochside Trail, which we found unspectacular -- dull in fact. We're avid cyclists and found it disappointing, the path often alongside the highway. We touched a bit of the Lochside Trail from... More

The Lochside Trail from Victoria to Sidney is an easy, mostly level ride while passing through a nice variety of landscapes. From forested lanes to views over the Gulf Islands, it continued to reveal interesting spots, including a mud hole with three large pigs. Best thing though, enough coffee shops and bakeries along the way to keep the energy level... More
