We visited the Kincardine lighthouse twice this summer, enjoying the guided tour each time. The tour guide was very knowledgable and we learned some interesting history about the lighthouse and the Kincardine harbour. Be sure to climb to the top of the lighthouse to see the beautiful view! We returned to the area on a Friday evening to hear the... More

One summer there was a man playing a bag pipe on the balcony of the lighthouse...fantastic to hear with the view of Lake Huron in the background. I brought a friend in the fall of last year to see the lighthouse but it was closed. It's a small structure not nearly as large as the lighthouse at Point Clark. That... More

This lighthouse is given SO much attn. in numerous travel brochures and magazines about Kincardine, Huron and Ontario! It builds up expectations, but in reality, the lighthouse is quite small and is not right on the water, kind of at the back, not very noticeable. Inside, the stairs are very narrow and the doorways at the stairwell turns are quite... More

Although the lighthouse was not open for interior tours, we were there before the 'tourist season' officially opened, we could still walk around it and the surrounding historical area. We walked down the old pier and then along the boardwalk and back around and through old buildings - one cannot help but get a sense of how rugged and persevering... More

This gorgeous old lighthouse is a great spot to visit for a break from the sun on the beach. Explore on your own, or take a guided tour. Try to climb all the way to the top, and be sure to listen to the phantom piper playing on the top deck at sunset.

Though the lighthouse is retired now, it leaves good stories for us to learn. Tour guide Mackenzie is a excellent, it's sad to see those ship wrecks by the way.

It's a bit of a climb but well worth it. A stunning view of Lake Huron after climbing a spiral staircase. Amazing to think people lived here.
