It is small. We were there for an open house in the evening to see an exhibit. Maybe if we had visited when there were staff to ask questions of, it would have been better. After seeing his pictures at the gallery in Ottawa, I was a little disappointed. If you are into techniques of printing and how he reproduced... More

Staff were helpful, thorough, engaged in their talk about Homer Watson's history and life and contributions to the city. The grounds were interesting and staff at different places on the grounds. This is a lovely historic home / gallery for the city. It was a pleasure to see this facility at Open Doors Ontario.

My great grandfather arrived in Kitchener from overseas in 1880-around the same time that Homer Watson moved in to the house that has long since become the Homer Watson House and Gallery. Our families share a history in Waterloo Region. The house and its owner have stood the test of time to maintain a respectable family name in the place... More

The art teachers maybe are good at their arts, but some of them definitely are incompetent when it comes to supervising kids during their camp day breaks. My 5 year old son got broken arm at the Homer Watson House & Gallery day camp during outside break time. ( Bigger kids were chasing and trapping small kids using hola hoops... More

If you love great art you will appreciate the story of landscape painting from this area of Ontario and will be astonished by this small, first-rate gallery. In addition to the permanent collection there is often a temporary exhibit. We were thrilled to discover local artist Bill Schwartz during our visit here, and plan to visit his private gallery in... Homer Watson's original house is now a museum. This year's show is the Grand national juried quilt show- excellent!

We've done a summer camp and a march break art camp with our kids, and the experience has always been wonderful. They are professional, the kids come home exhausted and happy, they always learn something new and the teachers are great.

The Galley draws people for a number of reasons, one being the painters garden. Bring a stool and your tools and sit in the small garden and paint the indigenous plants. The garden is run by volunteers. For a fee visit the gallery in the house. I have attended for special showings and this is wholly worthwhile then. Once was... More
