Open year round, Wye Marsh is an excellent place to get outdoors and get close to nature. Situated on 3,000 acres of National and Provincial Wildlife Area, the centre is teaming with fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities. From trumpeter swans to painted turtles there is always something to see from the 25 km of trails and boardwalks. We also offer naturalist guided tours and programs that will take you into the marsh. We offer guided canoe/kayak tours, walks with a naturalist and equipment rentals (bike, ski and snowshoe) to further explore the marsh. Our interpretive centre has live reptiles and amphibians and birds of prey demonstrations. Throughout the year we run special events, workshops and speaker presentations. Escape, explore and experience nature at it's best with Wye Marsh.

We probably should have visited in the a.m. as it was very warm but we still saw lots of things. Thoroughly enjoyed the canoe ride through the marsh as well as the exhibits in the museum and the walk through the marsh. Staff were very enthusiastic!

Plenty to see and do in the Wildlife Centre. Anyone would enjoy a visit here, not just those interested in nature. A wide variety of wildlife to see, trails to walk and information to gather.

Although parts of the boardwalk and some of the marsh observation areas are closed due to parts collapsing into the marsh, this is an amazing place to visit with the kids. Boardwalk sightings include osprey, frogs, water snakes, turtles, red winged blackbirds. The canoe trip was the perfect length (30-40 mins) for young kids and showed the marsh from a... More

The scenery there is beautiful and trails are well kept with lots of different routes. It's very family friendly, my niece loved feeding the chickadees after spending the morning skiing.

We went to the marsh after visiting Discovery Harbour and Saint Marie among the Hurons. Our family went on an hour paddle at dusk through the marsh and our guide was experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. They also have a trumpet swan rehabilitation on site and these birds are incredibly beautiful. There is a boardwalk through the marsh that is currently... More

This place is amazing: very organized and clean, there are plenty of (very clean!) bathrooms) and the staff is helpful and if you come in a large group (ours was about 25 people), they'll give you a dedicated guided tour of the place. The boardwalks are old and quite unstable (part of it is closed since it collapsed altogether) but... More

Wye Marsh is not the Everglades, but it is a very nice experience in a peaceful and well-planned setting. If one is in the Midland area, some quiet time at Wye Marsh would be a wise choice.

Hubby and I often seek out a wildlife refuge when we're traveling. We were looking for something as a break from Toronto's big city experience, and are pleased we came here. We walked along the marsh trails, and visited the birds. If we lived in the area, I'm sure we would be coming here often. It's a bit out of... More

I bought a membership so that I could walk the trails and boardwalk and see some wildlife as I walk.

Although it is a wildlife center, but the sheer beauty of the marsh, the green winding trails, high trees, and a long boardwalk, makes it romantic too..... There reception is very organized and though there were guided tours too, but the detailed map of the area inspired us to explore the area ourselves and it was worth it.The area is... More
