The museum recounts the rather colorful history of the area very well. They have even made an attempt to enhance the Aboriginal part if that story. The Maple Syrup Festival is very well done. It incorporates the village very well. Take your time and enjoy the food at each exhibit. The vendors are excellent too

Our township went here as part of the township Christmas. They opened up Morestown for us and we were able to see 6 of the buildings with staff in costumes telling us about the history. It was very interesting and informative. I have also been to Grey roots for Archive research and was helped greatly by the archivist. The displays... More

On a recent trip to Grey Bruce we passed by the museum on our way to the cottage. The children were quite excited when they saw it and we looked it up online when we stopped at a nearby wifi location. We have been to the Pioneer Village in Kitchener and although not as large as Kitchener this was very... More

We were there for a family reunion so the museum was key to find out the history of the area. The staff was very helpful. An enjoyable afternoon.

Several times my family had driven by and it had been closed or we were too rushed. But we finally went in and I am glad we did! The main building houses several very interesting exhibits, which we looked over quickly. We then headed outside to their wonderful outdoor "village". It was great. Some places only focus on one time... More

This is a great place to visit for a few hours. The displays in the main building are good, with some hands on displays, interactive exhibits, and very helpful staff. But it is the outdoor "town" that really makes this place great. Recreated or relocated period buildings from around the area are dotted around the 'town', each staffed by people... More

My boyfriend and I went to the Grey Roots Museum, unfornately we did not get through it all because I recently hurt and twisted my knee . The archives and stuff that we did see was so interesting though, maybe next year we can go through it all

This beautifully designed building has a modern, upbeat take on how to display the history of the area. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I was fortunate enough to be here for a special event, The Ontario Handspinning Seminar, where we got to go behind the scenes to see the incredible Dorothy Kirk spinning wheel collection.

We made our first visit with only an hour to closing. We were so impressed we returned the next morning to complete the experience. The only downside was that the heritage village did not open until the end of June, which was a major disappointment. It's a great place to learn about the local history and people - especially Agnes... More

They have done a lot of loving and thoughtful work putting together this attraction. It is a work in progress as they are planning on building a church for the pioneer village this year. I also enjoyed being able to look up on their in-house computer the resting place of your Grey County ancestors. I am hoping to return there... More
