This park caught my eye because there is a French River in my hometown of Duluth, MN. I couldn't pass it when I saw the sign and I'm glad I stopped for a visit.
There are a myriad of trails around the intrepretive building and one of them goes across a bridge which is Canada's longest cable supported snowmobile bridge...

The French River (part of French River Provincial Park) runs from Lake Nipissing to Georgian Bay and it was the the main 'highway', used by early explorers, voyageurs and courtiers de bois, who transports goods in their big canoes. Later loggers moved in, towns popped up (some had almost 2,000 inhabitants in summers) and tens of thousands of logs drifted...

We rented canoes at the Hartley Bay Marina- they were very helpful, reasonably priced, the canoes in good shape.
We travelled for 3 days - two nights- 40 km in paddling - a beautiful part of Ontario. We had 2 easy portages.
