We are located in Tower Hill Park at the base of Parry Sound's 96-foot Look-Out tower overlooking Beautiful Georgian Bay. The Museum features a changing calendar of exhibits in three galleries. Exhibits feature an extensive collection of local artifacts connected to the history of the Parry Sound District. Themes include Natural and Cultural history trapping, First Nations, nautical shipping, Logging, Agriculture and Contagion. Fine arts and special exhibits are offered throughout the year in our two temporary galleries. We offer family rates and special family events throughout the year. We have plenty of picnic tables and one of the best views in town, come spend the day with us.

We are rating this Very Good, but I am afraid we didn't even get into the museum. We simply enjoyed the surrounding park hugely. We actually arrived early, before the museum was open, and so we wandered about exploring the park. It is a mini paradise very close to downtown Parry Sound. There is a pond and several flower gardens.... More

We enjoyed climbing up this 10 story tower for a commanding view of the town of Parry Sound and Georgian Bay beyond. The stairs are wide and the structure is sturdy. There was a refreshing breeze at the top.

This museum is not very original, but it can be interesting for the children who study North America history. It is quite a small museum: 30/40 minutes are enough to discover it. The fire tower near the museum is more interesting and the view is great from the top.

We went to the tower with our 2 grandsons (ages 4 and 6). They had fun at the tower; although we didn't go up all the way, we had a lot of fun doing the stairs (very safe) and got a great view! We also enjoyed the beautiful gardens and paths and had a nice picnic at one of the... More

If there's one thing you do while in Parry Sound, it should be climbing the tower on Tower Hill. I've done it about ten times and it's still fun. It's the best way to see the town and surrounding area in all directions, and it's free. The 130 stairs certainly aren't daunting and you're on top before you know it.... More

You have to climb the tower, you can see the surrounding area, well worth the climb and it is free, and the gardens are amazing.

The heritage gardens are gorgeous and the fire tower a must-do for the spectacular view. The museum is fairly generic, however.

You must climb this tower and check out the fantastic panorama. I especially liked the view of the elevated railway bridge. Perfect timing to visit as well, just as the best fall colours were coming out. Try running up to the top if you want to test your endurance. The adjacent museum is also well worth a look. Small but... More

Not one of my choice attractions in Parry Sound. If you have kids you might want to avoid the museum. Very little to see and do. I thought they'd have more artifacts.

Excellent local museum, with the added interest of the fire watching tower which gives a view of the town and bay.
