Description: Enjoy a captain's-eye view of Georgian Bay's 30,000 Islands Biosphere...
Enjoy a captain's-eye view of Georgian Bay's 30,000 Islands Biosphere Reserve aboard the 550-passenger Island Queen. We offer two and three-hour sightseeing cruises that bring passengers surprisingly up-close to the pristine beauty of Georgian Bay's remote island wilderness and the rustic charm of its grand summer cottages. Follow in the wake of early explorers as the captain steers the ship past granite shoals into narrow channels and shallow waterways exploring out-of-the-way places within the world's largest freshwater archipelago. The Island Queen is fully equipped with comfortable inside and outside seating, large viewing windows, outside observation decks, wheelchair accessible washrooms, a snack bar, a full commentary and heat for our fall colour cruises. Cruises depart daily from June 1 to mid-October each year from the town dock in Parry Sound, Ontario.

Morning Cruise

We enjoyed our 2 hour cruise around the bay. Many sights to see, well-guided. We would recommend any of their tours, many itineraries to suit your schedule!

Very comfortable boat, little to no noise or engine vibration. Took the 3 hour cruise in the PM, there is a shorter 2 hour in the AM. Fascinating tour of what is called the 30 Thousand Islands area of Georgian Bay. Much of interest (didn't know Irving Berlin used to vacation here)

Overall, great time spent on this Island Queen ship, cruising around the Parry Sound Island.... more than 3 hours on this ship might be a bit too long.. but on a nice summer day..it is quite enjoyable... lower decks of the ship have a bit of a cheap bus ride feel... but you can step out on stern and or... This was FUN! We hopped aboard an almost empty boat (maybe 60 people, tops) after purchasing our tickets an hour in advance of the 1pm departure. The boat is three large and spacious levels, with washrooms on the first floor and food service (pizza, water beverages, butter tarts, etc.) available for purchase as well. The cruise was fantastic. An informative... More

Dear passenger, Thanks so much for your thoughtful review. We especially liked the phrase "quintessential Canadian experience." The ship is wheelchair accessible but you are right, the first deck is where most who use wheelchairs or assisted walking devices stay. Having said that, the washrooms, snack bar and comfortable bench and table seating are all on the first deck, which... More

The Island Queen Cruise is filled with friendly staff, and the Georgian Bay is spectacularly seen from onboard the Island Queen. The maneuvering of the ship is very impressive. 1st choice for seeing the gorgeous Georgian Bay.

Tourism brings a lot of money into this town and the Island Queen is a big part of this fact. I base this statement on the number of people that .were on the three hour afternoon tour on Sunday. Not only do locals enjoy this tour but people from Canada plus other parts of the world. For forty dollars one... More

Dear passenger, Thanks so much for your nice review. Its always a surprise to us how many locals take the cruise so yes, its a great way to meet some local people. This cruise was beautiful. My boyfriend and I went on a 2 hour morning cruise, even though it was a cloudy windy day it was still lovely. Saw some wildlife and as always the colourful Canadian Shield. I think the view would be better in the fall when all the trees have changed colours.

Dear passenger, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The two-hour morning cruise is a lovely way to get a feel for Georgian Bay. The islands are truly spectacular in the full sunshine, the pouring rain or somewhere in between. Whatever the weather, the 30,000 Islands have many moods and all are beautiful. Thanks again. More

Admittedly we enjoyed the cruise way more than our 10 yr old and his 9 yr old friend, although at least they could explore this ship with its 3 decks and snack bar. They got to spend all day at Santa's Village the day before, so a treat for the adults was called for. In any case, the fancy cottages... More
