The hotel staff at the Paintbox Lodge recommended this walk. It took us through the back of residential parts, on trails, and then brought us out in an unpopulated area. We continued on to Larch Island, making a loop back to town, over the old coal train bridge. We meandered for about 2.5 hours. So lovely. Peaceful. Stunningly beautiful, especially... More

Good family walk espcially if your staying up in Kananaskis way, provides a nice alternative route to get to town.

This little boardwalk pathway is a lovely bit of nature in the centre of Canmore. Great open views of the mountains, wildlife and flora. Nice way to walk to or from the centre of town. Kids will love seeing the ducks.

a pleasant walkway across marsh and creek with potential for viewing ducks and other bird life. Definitely not a shortcut into town, but a pleasant diversion!

I have walked it almost daily for 16 years and still am in awe of the views on a bluebird sky day. the family of ducks that birth there are... More

This walk is right at the heart of Canmore, and has continued to be expanded over the years. Hikers, cyclists, nature enthusiasts -- all can enjoy this walk. The walk begins with wooden plank coverage and then continues to concrete and level rock surfaces. Resting areas dot the area.

Something to do to walk off cake and coffee. Boardwalk side nice but was not keen on railway side - puddles and smelly.

Pretty much exactly what you'd expect. Gets you from point a to point b in about the same amount of time as walking down the road except with nicer views. Lets out in a empty lot by the railway where occasionally you have to walk around a strange vehicle. Needs some maintenance and definitely not recommended for a rainy day... More

Charming trail through Canmore and along the creek, not a must do, but certainly a nice side adventure if you can find the time.

While staying here we walked portions of this Boardwalk! Well maintained, great place for photos and I walked short parts daily! Loved taking photos!
