Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours near Banff, Alberta, Canada, provides tours of the kennels in the summer and up-close-and personal contact with 184 wonderful sled dogs. The excellent tour is done in small groups and teaches you everything about how these dogs are lovingly raised. The dogs are very social and just beautiful animals. In the winter you can drive... The highlight of our trip was playing with and loving so many wonderful dogs. It was heart warming to watch the people work with and care for the dogs. At first I thought it was expensive, but after being there I feel it was well worth the money. I would do it again in a heart beat.

A year later and our ten year old Son won't stop talking about the huskies so we went for a tour to the actual Kennel this year. A bus was supplied to bring a group to the kennels. They introduced us to groups of dogs and there was ample opportunity to take pictures with the dogs and cuddle with them.... More

My husband said when I booked this quite expensive excursion -(for 4 of us) "it better be worth it " .... he would honestly say now ; that was the best thing we did the whole holiday !!!! This experience is a once in a lifetime thrill - with memories & photos you will never forget - my jaw was... More

This was a summer visit and luckily the weather was good. We got a 1½ hour tour with Ethan, one of the directors. He introduced us to almost all of the more outgoing dogs (there are about 180 and a 3 week old litter of six cute pups) and explained about sledding and all the different sled dog breeds, their... Dogsledding was on my wife's "bucket list", and I can only say it was memorable, and exceeded expectations. We did a 4 hour tour in the morning, and that's about right for a first time experience. 2 hours would be too short, and an all day tour would be a lot to ask of a greenhorn. They give you plenty... During the summer, Snowy Owl offers tours of the sled dog facility. You get to learn about how they're trained, what they eat, how they're cared for, different breeds, etc. But most importantly, you get to play with the dogs (including puppies)! The guide is careful to make sure that visitors are only approaching dogs who will be friendly and... More

A fun time had by all. Surprised at how 'hands on' it was. Great guides and thorough safety briefing. Much loved and cared for dogs who enjoyed the experience as much as we did. A 'must do'.

This was the one activity our family was looking forward to and it didn't disappoint! This is a must do and the highlight of our trip! The staff were lovely and the dogs were just amazing. We pinched ourselves that we were actually there and the views and sights were just incredible. We would go again in a heartbeat :)... More
