There are some great photographic opportunities at this place and has a good garden for a picnic. Good for a quick tour.

We just visited this place and accessed it via public transport from Downtown Vancouver - Seabus to North Vancouver and then 236 bus, ask the driver for Cleveland Dam stop Its worth the trip if you combine it with the Salmon Hatchery and a general walk around the parks of the Capilano River. Also near the Capilano suspension bridge. There... More

We took the 232 bus from Capilano up the mountain to the Cleveland Dam. Great place for a picnic. We then walked the trail down the hill on the West side of the river to civilization, geocaching along the way.

Cleveland Dam is named after a man whose last name is Cleveland, You can park within close walking distance and walk over the dam and into the surrounding park area and forest trails. These trails are part of a dense forest. My knees became a little weak and wobbly when standing next to the side and peering over the edge... More

OK, it's just a dam but....when the spill over is flowing fast, it's just something to see. There is ample parking for most times, so that's not a problem. You're not just going to see the dam, there are a number of trails to be hiked to go below the dam area and have a visit with nature.

Free. Beautiful sites. Stare out at the rushing waters and reflect on how lucky we are to have the mountains and ocean and the Capilano reservoir.

We visited here early August 2015 and there was a lot of work going on. Also Vancouver was in drought conditions and there was very little water. Lots of trails around for hiking which would be another attraction. Good views are worth seeing. Free parking, though this was considerably less than usual due to the work going on. Would be... A warning to visitors that here is considerable construction going on at Cleveland Dam. The main water distribution pipe to the Grater Vancouver District is being upgraded and so it is not easy to get into the dam area. Lots of detours. The detours will be in place until January / February / 2016. Once you get to the dam... More
