for a freebee site to visit and walk over this is it. Tired of paying big bucks for the suspension bridge and Grouse tram, then slow down and enjoy the views from atop the dam

Great place to go hiking. Not too difficult. Beautiful nature, mountains and water. The waterfall and our drinking water dam is worth checking out for sure, especially for North Van residents.

It is a nice walk across the Cleveland Dam to easy walks or runs on the nature paths. Very close to where you park is a nice picnic area.

This is a great couple of hours of nature loving and its only 20 minutes from the city. We were heading to the Capilano bridge but made the mistake of driving there only to discover that all the parking lots were full. So we just drove on and happened upon this oasis of tranquility just 5 minutes up the road... More

Worth stopping and walking the trails is that is what you like. Map at the beginning of the trail gives you a few option for the distance you prefer. When you look down from the large bridge you can get a great look at how high up the dam is.

Did I mention Free Free Free!?!? I was blown away -- after having had to pay for everything, and parking galore, to find a free parking lot next to a massive park and recreational area, with hiking trails and a Salmon Farm. Trail maps in the parking lot were free of charge, and after starting at the Dam (which was... More

Great spot to walk around, look at the pristine watershed and the knee-shaking height of the dam (from above). Really nice trails - well maintained and wide. Free parking. It's a great regional district (Metro Vancouver) park, and the area's watershed, and well worth the trip up Capilano Road in North Van to get to it.

The vantage point near the spillway on the dam wall provided great reflective views of the lake & the gardens would prove to be a popular picnic spot.
