Beautiful park and damn. Great for a picnic. Movies are often filmed here. Dogs can run around. What's not to like?

All free. You can picnic, walk the paths right down to the Capilano fish hatchery. Stand and watch the spectacular water display or just stand and stare at the Lions and the lake. Great scenery.

Was a nice random stop on my way up the mountain. Didn't even realize it was there till I was driving past and made a quick turn into the parking lot to see what it was. Has a nice view of the lake with the mountains in the background. Nice if it's a clear day, otherwise it looks like most... More

This is one of my favorite local spots. Not only is the dam in a gorgeous setting amongst the mountains and the start of the famous salmon spawning Capilano River; it connects to many trails that loop around to north and west Vancouver. You can walk from the dam in North Van, all the way to Ambleside Park in West... More

After our visit to the Salmon Hatchery we walked up the hill and really enjoyed the walk through the forest. Walking up and seeing the wall of the dam is nothing really exiting - however the view from the top was exhilarating!

Stopped at this park during our return trip from Capilano Suspension Bridge. The dam is somewhat small, but you're able to walk across the top of it. There is a lovely lake/reservoir where you could picnic if you like. A word of caution. While we were at the park, someone attempted to steal our bikes off the bike rack on... More

Really nice "park" area with a beautiful damn area and directly from the parking area is a FANTASTIC SETTING.

If you have never been to a dam before, this is a nice one to start with. The views are as nice as it gets. The funniest part are the maintenance signs. The area pretty good at working their phrases.

This is a dam, and a wonderful picnic area for families! I led a group of 59 schoolmates yesterday there! Everyone enjoyed!!! Top marks for this place...all for nature!
