Worth stopping and walking the trails is that is what you like. Map at the beginning of the trail gives you a few option for the distance you prefer. When you look down from the large bridge you can get a great look at how high up the dam is.

Did I mention Free Free Free!?!? I was blown away -- after having had to pay for everything, and parking galore, to find a free parking lot next to a massive park and recreational area, with hiking trails and a Salmon Farm. Trail maps in the parking lot were free of charge, and after starting at the Dam (which was... More

Great spot to walk around, look at the pristine watershed and the knee-shaking height of the dam (from above). Really nice trails - well maintained and wide. Free parking. It's a great regional district (Metro Vancouver) park, and the area's watershed, and well worth the trip up Capilano Road in North Van to get to it.

The vantage point near the spillway on the dam wall provided great reflective views of the lake & the gardens would prove to be a popular picnic spot.

Cool to see the dam and the view down from the top, but not a lot of information about the inner workings and the construction of it.

The Cleveland Dam in Capilano River is located on the way to Grouse Mountain, a few kilometers before it. It is a park, you can go by car and live it at the parking or go by bus as I did. The landscape on your right, beautiful, with The Lions giving it special touch, and on your left the dam... More

A park in Vancouver almost always succeeds expectations because wildlife and scenery are always abundant. It was no different at this park as the trails seclude you from the city and truly relax your soul. The major downfall of the Cleveland dam is the extremely poorly maintained trails. At times I felt slightly lost do to trails jutting into the... More

What a kool place and a nice treat to stop in. From VERY clean wash rooms to the park and nice people all around made this dam visit more enjoyable than I thought it would be! The Dam itself is spectacular and the whole area is amazing. Nothing to criticize here unless you are a picky hard to please person.... More

The dam, and the park that surrounds it, are a magnificent place to spent a day in North Vancouver. The nature is unique and you can have lots of fun walking and hiking around the park for hours. Its a perfect place for a picnic and you can even go with your dog. The picturesque view of the lake and... More
