We added this location as part of a camera club photo excursion - everyone was impressed with the historical buildings and we all captured some excellent images. Lots of great textures in the old weathered building and equipment. We visited in the early morning and in a slight drizzle so there weren't too many people around. Watch out for dog... More

This historic attraction is one not to miss. I am a local and find it more interesting each time I go. All the renovations to bring this Ship Yard back to the days of 'when' has all been done by volunteers. The building are historic sites and have been kept in place to allow them to keep the status. If... More

Though I live in the Vancouver area I had never been to Steveston before. Our visit to the shipyard was very enjoyable, and our guide very knowledgeable.

Great little walk through history. Bring a camera!! The exhibits are very well done, beautiful, and interesting. Even kept young hyper children's attention! Well done.

When they get this place fully open with guides it will be even further amazing. Loved that you could just walk around and learn at your own pace. Price was perfect - donation! and no charge for parking!!!

Kids went for a school field trip. They enjoyed it but I would not go out of my way if you were from out of town. If you found yourself near definately go, but don't try to maneuver through the city for this one.

The Shipyard is really a very large workshop over 150 years old at the mouth of one of B.C.'s greatest rivers, The Fraser. Wooden fishboats and powerboats have been built and refurbished here by generations of craftsmen, and that work continues today. On display are original tools and equipment dating back to the turn of the 19th century. Take a... More

The boatworks were a real part of Steveston's history. The shipyard preserves some of this - including tools and photos - and keeps wooden boat-building alive. Very interesting!

Well worth the price - free! Shows a less slick side of salmon cannery business and life of the workers. If the weather is nice, boardwalk to "downtown" Steveston along the river is very nice.
