Lots of open parkland. Many different themed gardens. We visited in October and it was certainly a Spring delight! Was a little disappointed as a number of gardens were left to nature and had many weeds. We only visited to kill time before we were due to fly back to Australia. Spent a few hours here, but I guess we... More

We stumbled on this attraction because we were running out of ideas to occupy ourselves on Christmas Day. Thankfully, the Botanic Gardens were open, although those parts of the gardens that required manpower to run were not. Thankfully as we visited in the summer, there were plenty of flowers in bloom. The gardens also have quite a variety of flora... More

The Gardens offer interest for all. You could spend a day there. A place that changes with the seasons. Has mobility scooters for use to travelthe sealed paths. There is also a cafe on site but you can picnic there as well.

About half an hour out of Auckland. Beautiful gardens that had magnolias and azaleas in full bloom. Very well laid out, excellent paths and walkways. Lovely cafe at the entrance. Didn't get to explore too much of it but the hour or so spent there was very enjoyable.

Worth the (short, really) 30 min drive from the city. The gardens are landscaped beautifully and of course the spring weather had brought out the best in the flowers. Recommend.

We used to frequently come to these gardens when we lived in Auckland. One of the highlights was the Perennial Garden, beautifully landscaped with lots of colour and perfect for weddings, which often happened at the weekends. But on a recent few days stay in Auckland we went along as it was such a lovely day. But the perennial garden... More

Very good site with enormous range of plants and trees. Spread over quite an area so allow an hour or two. Have visited several times and met friends in the Cafe. (Food good but coffee average). Plenty of parking and overall pleasant surroundings. Recommended.

We came across this place entirely by accident. It is a lovely garden for a walk round, but also the educational displays like the one about endangered NZ plants are great too. We were there in very early spring and the Magnolia trees were in full bloom - marvellous! Lots of Tui's around as well.

I love this place, lovely to just wander and enjoy, so much to see. Great to spend the day. A really good cafe and also a good shop too. Spend the day, take your lunch or buy something at the cafe, take your camera and really enjoy your surroundings. Its a bit of a trip from the central city but... More
