Lovely Day Out

Really nice day. Plenty for the kids to do and a lovely cafe for lunch, reasonably priced. Definitely recommend to anyone.

We like a botanic garden to visit and we have made several trips to this one. It is a nice place to come for quiet contemplation with plenty of secluded areas, or as a family with spaces for the kids to run about and to interact with nature, for couples, walkers, readers, painters and photographers and many more. The cafe... More

We've visited many botanic gardens but this was one of the best. EASY to find just off the motorway. A really good cafe too. Pity there was no gift shop.

It is a large park fit for anybody, the whole family can enjoy it. Variety of plant groups, from Palms, African Plants, Podocarp Valley, Rock Garden and Native Plants can be seen along the year. For summer time the queen of the plant is Roses. Many different beautiful colours of Roses are grown during summer and autumn. When spring comes,... More

This was a lovely day out with friends. Beautiful space and well used. Some areas were still being constructed, but as a free attraction it's one of the best. Well worth a look.

The gardens are very easy to get to, being just a few hundred metres off the State Highway 1 heading south from Auckland. There is plenty of easy and parking and admission is free. They are relatively newly established, although the setting of native bush and long established trees would not lead you to think so. This is a well... More

This was the highlight of my Auckland experience - beautiful to be able to get out of the busy city and immerse myself into nature. This garden is 64 hectares which means you will not be in danger of seeing the same thing twice and pretty rare to even bump into other strollers. Beautiful flowers and amazing forest walk. Far... We always take in Botanical Gardens on our trips whenever they're available. They never disappoint, and the Auckland Gardens was no different. It's a wonderful place to go to get away from the fast pace of the city.

It´s a magnificient place, with a vast variety of plants, trees and gardens...The place is huge, so if you don´t feel like walking, take one of the carts.
