This is one of the lesser known volcanos in Auckland, with the chief feature of accessibility to downtown. If a volcano is on your list, take the ferry from downtown to Devonport, then walk up for great views of the harbor and downtown. $16NZD and an hour and a half return, including the walk and ferry ride. If you have... More

This is only doable by either power wheelies, those with really strong upper body or a super fit person to push you. The view from the top is well worth it and there is an ice cream place at the bottom to treat yourself when you get back down.

Unfortunately the road to Mount Eden was closed due to an accident but we visited Mount Victoria because it was near the place we ate lunch. The views of Auckland and the bays from here are quite spectacular and you should try to make it here if you can. We did so on a tour with TIME Unlimited.

Mount Victoria is an easily accessible picnic spot near Auckland - you can drive across or take a ferry and walk up the not-so-steep slopes. You get an excellent view of Auckland and its harbour and there is a World War 2 vintage Gun Emplacement for you to see. A convenient place to visit along with family and children.

Mt Victoria is a free tourist and visitor attraction show casing the wonderful views of Auckland City and the Harbour, Rangitoto and the Hauraki Gulf. The entrance is via Kerr Street off Victoria Rd Devon Port. The site is an old 1880's fortifications to defend British interest when the Russians where threatening British interest. The long coast line require defenses... More

Though not much of a summit, Mt. Victoria offers wonderful views. Unfortunately very crowded during Peak seasons. Indeed an ideal spot for a picnic.

Small park with tricky & somewhat hidden entrance. Not suitable for campers or RV's. Can drive or walk to top. Came for view & it was awesome. HIGHLY recommend it. Devonport is quaint bayside town with gift shops & restaurants. Glad we went over the Auckland bay bride for a ride.

This is one of my favorite places to hang out in Auckland. It's a nice short walk to the top & the views from up there are breath taking. Magnificent both during the day & at night. Definitely recommend!!!

Beautiful 360 views of Auckland. Bit of a walk to the top or quick drive for a fantastic view of the beautiful city. Go on a nice sunny day. Sunsets over waitakere are amazing
