One of the things we planned to do after getting off the ferry from the City was to head up Mount Victoria and take in the view from above. We visited on one of the most beautifully sunny Winter day. The walk up was refreshing. We deviated from the paved roads and took the walked path and took in the... More

Beautiful view. Came up with a tour bus. Good spot to see everything around auckland. The mushrooms are cute. Got a few awesome photos around them.

Without actually intending to, I found myself walking to the summit of Mt Victoria. It was hard work as it is pretty steep however, the views as you make your way around one of Auckland's distinctive volcanic cones are fantastic. As luck would have it, the sun came out as I reached the summit and I was able to take... More

Love The Views!!! We usually grab a picnic from one of the cafes in Devonport, then head up for a wander around, picnic, head to the other peak for another wander around then home - a whole day can be enjoyed exploring the tunnels and old gun placements. Check out the hidden gun oat North Head! Make sure it's a... More

This was an afternoon excursion to Devonport in winter and I loved every minute of my time up atop the Reserve, even though it was pretty blustery. Stunning view over the whole bay and of the city in the distance, with some really interesting history of NZ coastal defence to review here as well. It should be on everyone's itinerary... More

Was here on a beautiful afternoon watching the sunset with my girlfriend. Absolutely breathtaking view. We took lots of photos and had trully memorable time. Really a must do in Devonport after a pleasant ride on the ferry.

Ok, we cheated and drove up - but a lot of other people walked! Fantastic view from the top, great panorama of Auckland and then out to Rangitoto and beyond. Interesting old tunnels and guns etc from the military days of protecting Auckland - hope this continues to get restored and looked after. More info for tourists would be even... More

On the advice of our B&B, we climbed to the top of Mount Victoria and had wonderful 360'degree views. The mushroom stools were so cute and the history of the hill was well presented.

After reading many good reviews about Mt Victoria Reserve, we took a nice ferry ride from Auckland to Devonport and started our hike up. At first we took a trail used by local peoples which has many big trees with shade. The trail then connected to a paved road that lead to the summit. We took a lot of pictures... More
