Owner description: Brewery tours run Monday to Saturday, starting from the Visitors Centre, they last approximately 2 hours. The first 1½ hours are spent around the brewery where you'll see our original steam engine, learn about our history and how we make our range of delicious beers. Once outside the Brewery, don't forget to keep an eye out for our working Shire horses, which still deliver beer to our local pubs. If you are planning a visit to the brewery and would like to see the drays on their regular delivery rounds it is always best to phone ahead and check that the shires will be working on that day. In any event, the tour of the brewery includes a tour of the stables so you won’t miss out on seeing these amazing animals. Upon completion of the tour, it's back to our sampling bar in the Visitor Centre for a ½ hour beer tasting. It is essential to book a Brewery Tour by contacting us on the phone or email. Cost: £11.50 per person

Time has stopped in Hook Norton. Very little has changed in this Brewery since 1901. This is not for any one who cannot climb steep stairs and many of them. However those who can are treated to a wonderful experience. Little has been changed from the processes the founders put in place. Handcrafted beers at their best. The generous sampling... More

The brewery tour is a great experience. The groups are small enough so that you all see & hear the whole process. Our guide was excellent & very informative. Roger, the Drayman, is quite a character & it is great to "meet" the Shires. The tasting afterwards was very generous & not at all rushed. Plenty of time to test... More

we went to Hook Norton brewery because living in New Zealand means that you don't get the real article easily as "lager" would be the most common drink there. You can find bitter but you have to hunt for it. Billed as the oldest functioning Brewery in the UK it appeared to offer an opportunity to taste and learn something.... More

A great tour of a real old brewery. The tours last about 90mins, and our tour guide was a fountain of knowledge. An ex teacher, he had a great manner about him, and the way he explained the whole brewing process and history of the brewery. I am into brewing beer myself, so I was hooked from the start, but... Our visit was on a damp October afternoon. Our Guide's enthusiasm for the Brewery and its long and interesting history was very infectious. The brewery building, the machinery and the brewing process have hardly changed since 1850 - this is living industrial archaeology! The comprehensive tour is followed by a generous tasting session of the excellent beers. The Visitor Centre... More

This was my second visit and the brewery keeps improving the visitor experience. The enthusiasm of our guide for the famiky business was obvious. We visited during the week when they were brewing two batches so our tour was accompanied by the smells and sound of machinery in operation. A highlight for my daughter was watching the horses being prepared... More

Fantastic tour of a 'proper brewery'! We went on a weekend so there was nothing actually brewing at the time, but the rest of the experience was excellent. Tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The tasting was great, as you would expect. Really worthwhile to visit!

Went on the tour as a bonding exercise with work colleagues. Learnt some fascinating facts about the history of the brewery and brewing in general. This was all brought to life by an interactive video. I would have liked to go to the top floor to see the water tanks and views over the surrounding countryside. However this is strictly... More

Really enjoyed the tour today. We met our lovely guide in the gift shop which is really well stocked with lots of great buys. We were taken the round the plant which is still fully operational. The tour was very informative and took about 75 mins. We then had a fantastic tasting session tasting all the varieties . The guide... More

I planned this visit for my partners Birthday with our families. We were lucky as a group of 6 to have our own tour guide, which was great. Our guide was fantastic, she was really detailed and very accommodating to my Dad who is blind in letting him tough a lot of the equipment and explaining it visually to him.... More
