This in a very unique attraction in all of Canada. Well worth the 15 minute drive south of the Trans Canada Highway. Yes, it doesn't "swing" like it used to but it is a very impressive structure and you can still "bounce" the bridge for a lot of fun. Enjoyable to all ages, kids to seniors.

I have been on almost all versions of this bridge over the years and I have to say I like this one the best. I brought the kids to see it just like my parents did with us. It is a sturdy built bridge (after the last floods) and it doesn't really swing that much which is ok with me.... More

We went out for a drive and happened to end up in Souris last weekend. We weren't sure if the bridge would still be there given yet another major flood this summer. It was, thanks no doubt to the solid construction that other reviewers have lamented. In my opinion, the bridge was still fun to cross and just one of... More

The Swinging Bridge is located in the centre of a small town: Souris, Manitoba. It provides a wonderful stroll across the Souris River. The old Swinging Bridge, which really used to swing, has been replaced by a modern one that does not sag quite as much. It was upgraded due to losses caused by floods. While the new one does... I used to visit Souris with my dad's baseball team as a kid. It brought back great memories and my kids loved it.

but it takes a major effort if you want to make it swing. And even then you can only make it swing if you know how to find and use the resonant frequency. Guess the new engineers worked too hard to stop it from swinging.

The engineers who designed the new swinging bridge in Souris left out one important thing – the swing. The “attraction” to this site is that the bridge moves as you walk across it, it responds to your presence and gives you a little thrill because it is so dangerous and fun. It isn’t fixed, it swings! Not anymore. I visited... More
