Redwings Oxhill is currently home to over 80 rescued horses, ponies and donkeys. The centre's staff offer regular 'Walk and Talk' tours and horse care demonstrations, while the Information Centre provides an opportunity to find out a little more about all things horsey. On site there is a cafe serving tasty refreshments as well as a gift shop for souvenirs of your visit, proceeds of which go to support the hundreds of equines in the charity's care. While visiting Redwings Oxhill, you may like to support the work of Redwings by sponsoring one of their friendly resident Adoption Stars, either for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one. A year's membership to the Redwings Adoption Club costs just £12.50! Oxhill's Adoption Stars include Major a stunning Shire cross, Wensley a mischievous miniature Shetland, and an entire herd of donkeys all waiting to meet you! Redwings Oxhill is open daily from 10am to 4pm March to November. Winter opening hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 4pm.

This was our first visit to Redwings and I was delighted to find entry was free (there were five of us) and the staff were so helpful in directing us where to find eldest grandchild's "adopted" horse. There is plenty of information about each animal and lots of other tips and info about horses and donkeys around. We were able... More

It is ok when it is open, site is rarely updated, no reply to e-mails; visited several times, during opening times, only actually open twice. Not a reliable place to plan your day around

Redwings Horse Sanctuary is a wonderful place to visit for all ages in an ideal setting in the countryside. The horses are so well looked after and cared for by very kind cheerful staff. The facilities are excellent and the cafe is just perfect with kind caring staff who are so willing to tend to ones catering needs. They will... More

Our first visit to Redwings. Good parking, nice visitor centre with a small cafe. It was lovely to see how well cared for the horses were, and such a credit to the hard working friendly staff.

Our second visit, its lovely to see the horses and of course donkeys. Not the best weather but we enjoyed seeing the animals being looked after by cheerful staff who spoke to the children. We had planned to have hot drinks and cake at the end but the girl behind the counter was intent in cleaning so we didn't bother... More

My first visit to this branch of Redwings, we were in the area so made a stop off. Not as big as the Norfolk sanctuarys so nice and easy to get round and see everyone. Good walkways and signage. We visited on a very wet and cold day but staff were still smiling out on the yards. We had coffee... More

Easily accessible. Lots of parking. We went on a rainy day and it was still well worth a visit. Staff were more than happy to talk to us and answer any questions we have (we were asking about a pony in quarantine who had recently been rescued). We also saw two horses being loaded into a horsebox for the first... More

Nice place to visit lovely horses and they do fantastic work there..worth a visit. Not a full day as there are just the paddocks. Cafe just served sandwiches and cakes which was ok but we went somewhere else. Nice place though we adopted a horse and would go back though.

This was our first visit to this amazing place, where rescued horses, ponies and donkeys are given new homes. You can walk among the paddocks and view the animals at your leisure, and there are many interesting displays with much information that will enhance your knowledge of these super-intelligent animals. There is also a good gift shop and tea room.... More
