Redwings Oxhill is currently home to over 80 rescued horses, ponies and donkeys. The centre's staff offer regular 'Walk and Talk' tours and horse care demonstrations, while the Information Centre provides an opportunity to find out a little more about all things horsey. On site there is a cafe serving tasty refreshments as well as a gift shop for souvenirs of your visit, proceeds of which go to support the hundreds of equines in the charity's care. While visiting Redwings Oxhill, you may like to support the work of Redwings by sponsoring one of their friendly resident Adoption Stars, either for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one. A year's membership to the Redwings Adoption Club costs just £12.50! Oxhill's Adoption Stars include Major a stunning Shire cross, Wensley a mischievous miniature Shetland, and an entire herd of donkeys all waiting to meet you! Redwings Oxhill is open daily from 10am to 4pm March to November. Winter opening hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 4pm.

We visited Caldecott hall nr great yarmouth

We had an enjoyable day walking round seeing all the horses, who are well cared for. We also had a drink in the shop.

Went on a blustery Saturday with 9 y/o son. We learned a lot and saw a wide range of horses and donkeys. Had some lunch, had an educational talk (pitched perfectly for the audience). Entry is free, but you are invited to offer a voluntary donation. I felt it was particularly worthy and was very happy to hand over my... More

A morning visit before we went to Shipston On Stour. First time visitors may miss the entrance as the road signs are not very prominent. Redwings exceeded our expectations with the knowledgeable staff and good facilities like a café and gift shop all under the same roof. We liked the company of the horses etc and felt they liked ours.... More

The good work that Redwings do is very clear from a visit to this sanctuary. Plenty of interesting information about rescues and about horses generally. Pleasant café and shop. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. An hour well spent.

Having visited other sanctuaries, I didn't have high expectations. Our visit was intended to appease a teenager. However this sanctuary is recommended. Signposting is not strong, but there's a reasonable size car park, including assigned parking for those with mobility needs. There is a pleasant wooden entrance facility, with shop, cafe and toilets. Everything was very clean, although I do... More

Having previously visited their Caldicott branch which we loved we made a visit to Oxhill as we're staying in the area. We loved it. It is a real sanctuary. When people complain that they cannot interact with the horses as they are always in the paddocks eating etc I think they totally miss the point. It is a sactuary not... More

I had heard about the horse sanctuary in a magazine and as we were at a bit of a loose end we decided to pay it a visit. I must stress I am not in the least bit horsey so if came as a shock to my partner when I suggested it. I loved it there, we both did. The... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Redwings. The horses, ponies and donkeys all now look so happy and cared for after their previous bad experiences. Lots of information and friendly staff - we learned a lot. Excellent coffee made fresh as we were the first customers. Good cake nice terrace outside. Great to be able to take our dog around... This was our first visit to Redwings and I was delighted to find entry was free (there were five of us) and the staff were so helpful in directing us where to find eldest grandchild's "adopted" horse. There is plenty of information about each animal and lots of other tips and info about horses and donkeys around. We were able... More
