I saw this on trip advisor when planning our New Zealand driving holiday and thought it'd be great. My wife thought it could be a disaster. We went through the first level and thought that was it and I thought it was well worth the $5 ($2 for kids!) but then there were four more levels. The work that's gone... More

This is like a personal collection and set-up on things that relate to the fantasy world: you can find animals, fairies, characters from several tales, and even a modeled locomotive system of the Manawatu railways. The staffs are so friendly and helpful. The kids really loved it.

Step into a world of fairytales and enjoy all the fine details that will take you back to your child hood. Wonderful staff make sure your visit is enjoyed and I can truly appreciate all the work that must go into creating these displays for everyone to enjoy.

This is a awesome place for children and adults, takes you back to your childhood. It is quite old, and the building has an uneven floor, so maybe elderly may find that difficult. Very friendly hostesses

She doesn't even recall how she heard about Fantasy Cave but had been there once previously and would talk about it from time to time. It's based around childrens stories, nursery rhymes, and suchlike. I guess many kids thesedays won't know some... More

The fantasy cave is an excellent place to visit and to take your children. It has so much to offer and the volunteers who run the place do an excellent job. They point out all the interesting things to see in all the hidden spots. You could spend quite a bit of time here to see it all. Well worth... More

This Cave is a once only you will never see anywhere else. It covers very many nursery rhyme themes, model railway with uniquely designed setting, Santa in the preChristmas season, & much more. It occupies three levels of a section of a building and something for everyone, young and old

The Fantasy Cave is a place where all your childhood storybook and nursery rhyme characters can be seen in one place. It is all run by volunteers, who are ever so helpful. A magical place to take children of all ages, and adults who can appreciate the hours of work that have voluntarily gone into the place.
