The cruise part was nice. The meal not so much. They served a plated dinner which was a surprise as we were told it was buffet. The presentation of the meal was the worst I have seen in some time. The food was just heaped on the plate, even the prime rib was pretty much tossed on the plate and... More

We took the evening dinner cruise and had a fun time. The meal was good and we enjoyed the live music and dancing. They took our photo on the dock and then put the guilt trip on later as they brought out the printed picture for sale. Unfortunately the night we went had a great deal of forest fire smoke... More

My husband and I did the Tahoe Queen dinner cruise during our honeymoon a few days ago. I've been on the M.S. Dixie before, but this was my first time on the Tahoe Queen. The cruise around the lake was lovely! The dinner was delicious- the prime rib was some of the best I ever had! I didn't love the... More

We did an afternoon cruise to Emerald Cove on the Tahoe Queen. "Mark Twain" was a guest on the boat and we found him totally unnecessary. His jokes were not funny, he repeated facts that the ship captain already told the group and kept commenting on all the pretty little girls running around on board (children). Very creepy. The tour... More

Terrific dinner cruise. This is the larger boat (Ms Dixie being the smaller) They sail out on alt nights, Tahoe Queen offering a buffet and the Ms Dixie a sit down dinner. As we didn't take the Dixie I cannot fairly compare them, however, the Tahoe Queen buffet was excellent. They also had live music. If I had one suggestion... More

The Tahoe Queen is an ageing paddle steamer that has seen better days - In the UK we have an expression which would cover it ... "Faded Elegance" We were expecting that but unfortunately it is leaning a little more toward ... "Dog Eared". That said, and if you can see past the superficial then you will get an idea... More

I took the afternoon cruise on the Tahoe Queen on 9/4. Beautiful day. The cruise lasted for approximately 2.5 hours. We slowly sailed to Emerald Bay and back with lots of narration from a crew member and a very sweet man dressed as Mark Twain. Lots of Lake Tahoe facts and history were discussed. The views were breathtaking, and I... More

We got tickets for the 1:30 sailing, cost was $44. each senior rate. We were really hungry, it was 12:30 and we were told we had to be on the dock at 1:00. The menu for the boat didn't appeal to us so we dashed into a nearby cafe and got food to go. The quandary was whether to eat... More

We took the 1:30 pm tour to Emerald Bay. I agree with other posters that having to pick up a ticket at the ticket window (even if prebooked), then queue at the dock, is not ideal. And boarding took ages because of each group having to be photographed. We were able to find a seat on the top deck, but... More
