We stopped through here and stomped around in the snow. It was a quiet place to hike, without the hustle and bustle of the tourist trapped other areas. It is a beautiful spot in the winter. We saw quite a bit of cross country skiing tracks. My pup loved to run amok freely. :)

The Valhalla Grand Hall is a marvelous spot to visit by bicycle, car or in our case for a family wedding - by bus. The building was constructed in an age of care and quality and is beautiful. The hall holds many guests comfortably as it has several rooms and an upstairs. Visit if you can as the grounds are... More

Valhalla is one of the best attractions that's even used by the Forest Service and the general public for annual parties to weddings

We rode our bikes from Tata lane to Valhalla. We walked our bikes on the trails and visited all the different very interesting buildings. They were worth the visit.

Unexpected, a mansion build in Norwegian style using both architectural and design inspired from Nordic 1850s buildings and interiors is what's hidden in the Emerald Bay. A Museum today, well maintained, with astonishing views from the inside to the lake and the nearby ponderosa forest, it is worth viewing on a rare cloudy day when the outdoors are less friendly.... We were concerned about the stories of plague and since we had very young children that were interested in chasing chipmunks, we didn't stay long enough to enjoy the area.

We tripped across this place on our visit to the Tallac Historic Estate. I wanted to see the fireplace inside, but they were setting up for a wedding. Worth checking out if you're visiting the Tallac Historic Estate-- just a short walk down the trail.

The history on this place was very interesting, but you need to book on the tour to get that. The first part of the tour is organized and the story of Valhalla is told. After that you are free to wander about for as long as you like. Great place allow 1-2 hours.

The location is gorgeous and the structures and their history are interesting. Relatively short but steep walk down to the building so wear comfortable shoes.
