We had nothing to do one weekend and were looking for something local to entertain our young children. We had heard of the Bushey Museum but had never been there so decided to give it a try. It is quite easy to park on the road where the museum is located. The museum is free and the staff are very... More

As a bushey resident I am pleased to have such a good museum on my doorstep. It has some really interesting local exhibits and some lovely Herkomer paintings. Well worth a visit if you have a bit of time to spare.

We stumbled upon the Museum quite by accident. We were visiting the Bushey Rose Gardens and then had a walk along the high st.The Museum had an exhibition of Art and we learnt so much about the Herkomer Art School in Bushey.Go take a look, you will not be dissappointed

I've just returned from visiting the Bushey Museum. What a treasure trove! Would highly recommend for anyone with an interest in Victorian art, film history, local history and for anyone who wants to know more about the model for 'Black Beauty'.

Bushey Museum and Art Gallery is indeed a superb and interesting place to visit but if you're not from Hertfordshire, you're unlikely to know that Bushey Museum is actually in Bushey, near Watford in Hertfordshire. Please note, Bushey Museum is not situated in the town of Hertford as indicated by Tripadvisor, not is it near Waterford as indicated by their... More

Bushey Museum and Art Gallery is a superb small gallery of internationally important art and of local history. Bushey was an important artistic centre for over a hundred years and the examples of painting and sculpture by Bushey artists are very impressive, especially the huge horse-paintings by Lucy Kemp-Welch and the gallery devoted to Sir Hubert von Herkomer.

Good for both kids and adults to visit (45 mins tops). Interesting photos, pictures and artifacts from Bushey from over the last 200 years. Impressive collection of oil paintings by famous local artist. Pity lack of funds prevents greater display.

An award winning museum with plenty to see and do. Local history abounds in the area and this is at the heart of it. From Herkomer to Lucy Kemp-Welch with her 'Black Beauty' illustrations, locally grown produce. It's all here.
