Take the extra time to get out to these old growth hardwood forest sanctuary areas. Beware of the areas around fallen trees - there are many leeches and before you know it they are latched on and sucking your blood. Very gross.

This park is definitely worth a visit. It is one of the rare parks in West Malaysia for nature and wildlife. It has a good mangrove park especially a broad walk. Migratory birds could be seen. Some of the facilities need attention. An early morning visit is highly recommended.

I went to this place during my travel to Kuala Selangor. A good site to do bird watching. I think I went during off season. Not many birds were there. But not a bad experience. If you travel by this area may be you should explore. Good to go after 7.00 am in the morning

Another great place that ‘Aussie Bob’ took us was the monkeys at Kuala Selangor Nature Park. This was a hillside away from the town centre below. At which we feed the monkeys who were placid and jumped up onto you once they knew you had food. The silver/grey monkeys are vegetarian and don’t bite, not like the brown ones, but... More

This was a really cool place. We fed the monkeys who were gentle and jumped on you and let you touch them and overall let us get a bunch of great pictures. If you end up here sit on the bench and buy some peanuts they come in droves and sit and wait to be fed. An amazing place to... More

A bit rundown and in need of maintenance but still a great place to do some good birdwatching and enjoy nature. There are a number of hides and one observation tower that was fine. The area around the lake is great as is the platform through the mangrove. Will repeat!

The view from the hill is not bad and the monkeys delightful. No need to fear they will bite as they seem a very relaxed breed. Very cute. Recommend the seafood restaurants in town overlooking the river and then on to the Fireflies Park. Only a short trip seeing the fireflies (20 mins in the boat) but very relaxing in... More

I vividly remember the smooth otters by the lake leaving their digested meal on the trail; squinting through binoculars to identify a feathered friend in the lake area; the silvered leaf-monkeys chilling out in the trees while the cheeky long-tailed macaques would follow us as we stepped away from the parking bays fronting the chalets. There were hides and observation... More

The Kuala Selangor Nature & Firefly Tour takes you to see one of Kuala Selangor’s best-known attractions – fireflies. Locally known as ‘kelip-kelip’ these incandescent bugs are a truly beautiful sight as they glow and light up the skies of the Firefly Park in the Kuala Selangor Nature Park. THIS PLACE is about 100km outside Kuala Lumpur and is an... More
