Mesmerising, breath-taking, amazing, awesome - just some of the words our visitors use when they talk about RSPB Bempton Cliffs.More than 200,000 seabirds - including gannets, puffins, kittiwakes and razorbills - nest on these cliffs, turning them into a seething mass of activity in spring and summer. And in autumn and winter, when the wind whips the sea into a cauldron of foam and spume, a clifftop walk is guaranteed to blow away the cobwebs. No wonder RSPB Bempton Cliffs has been described as one of the truly unmissable British wildlife spectacles.

A great place to see sea birds

I cycled to this spot and it was well worth the short climb up the road. The sea birds are very noisy and are easily spotted from the added decking jutting out over the cliffs. I wasn't sure exactly which birds I could see but I know I saw puffins! Maybe some identification charts would help but I possibly just... More

Bonjour! It's great to hear that our friends across the channel loved the reserve. We would very much like to promote ourselves more extensively - both at home and abroad but we have a limited advertising budget. However, we try to be as active as possible on social media so please like us on Facebook at RSPB North Yorks and... More

Fabulous scenery - for walkers completely free. Thousands of birds and some expert bird-watchers willing to give advice. Miles of walks in both directions - car parking available too at a price - well worth a visit - and once been, you will want to return.
