Mesmerising, breath-taking, amazing, awesome - just some of the words our visitors use when they talk about RSPB Bempton Cliffs. Around a quarter-of-a-million seabirds - including gannets, puffins, kittiwakes and razorbills - flock here in spring and summer to raise their family. Six, cliff top viewpoints give spectacular views of the nesting seabirds and the dramatic coastline. The new seabird centre at the heart of the reserve tells the story of the wildlife on the cliffs and why it makes it home here. In autumn and winter, when mists fall and winds blow, a clifftop walk can be a truly experience. RSPB Bempton Cliffs - one of the truly unmissable British wildlife spectacles.

The new visitors centre has added a new dimension to Bempton. Drinks and sandwiches are now available and there is a small seating area outside. The cliff access is wheelchair/pushchair friendly and the viewing points are sturdily fenced. Thousands of sea birds nest on the cliffs and the majority can be clearly viewed. We visited on 23 April, which is... More

Thousands and thousands of sea birds and you get up close to them.. Viewing platforms along the way, all easily accessible. There are knowledgeable volunteers who have powerful binoculars for you to look through. You are close to the edge of the cliffs and a huge variety of birds. Would love to go again when the birds are fledgling. Money... More

I love visiting Bempton Cliffs, and appreciate all the work done by RSPB. I am a member, and do not have to pay for parking, although I feel the charge is very reasonable and goes towards the upkeep. I think that people should not complain about it, given the facilities available. Although I appreciate the improved facilities in other areas,... More

Although none of our party are birdwatchers we all found this visit very interesting. The views of both the scenery and the nesting birds is spectacular and there are volunteers on hand to explain things. There are wonderful cliff top walks, parking is plentiful and the main building has a small cafe although room for more seating would be better.

Visited Bempton for the first time yesterday and it won't be the last. Great parking and state of the art visitor centre. The staff were very informative and helpful. We didn't mind paying the admission fee as this all helps with the cost of the work that the RSPB do. However we enjoyed it so much and will be regular... More

I love RSPB Bempton Cliffs and it is a great place to get close up and personal with seabirds. However I note that since spending a huge amount of money on a new visitor centre (one that still doesn't offer a proper cafe) the RSPB has started charging for entry rather than parking. This may seem fair and visitors may... More

Hello Hilary It's great that you think Bempton Cliffs is such a wonderful place. The RSPB put a lot of time and effort into ensuring it stays that way - not only with our ongoing seabird monitoring research but also by maintaining the paths and platforms that give access to the spectacular views of the colony. And it's a fact,... More

Exceeded expectations. Didn't think we would get as close to birds as we did. A variety of viewpoints and we could have stayed all day watching.

This centre is currently experiencing an upsurge of interest due to recently investing over a million pounds in refurbishing and also hosting BBC's Springwatch. It is however, still a work in progress and hopefully will come into its own next summer. The reason- landscaping using seeds is still going on and so all the plants will take time to grow... More

Beautiful new visitors centre with small café. Good paths down to viewing platforms. I went with elderly parents who had no problems with accessibility. Thousands of seabirds! Birdcam showing birds nesting on the cliffs shown on the screens in the centre. Very helpful volunteers and staff and all for only £3.50 entrance fee.

Have not been for about 20 years . Great new visitor centre , paths and viewing platforms . After being on Springwatch recently and it being a warm and sunny Saturday the place was rather busy . Best visit on a weekday if you want a bit of space . If you want to see seabirds in big numbers then... More
