Lovely day out on cliffs looking at seabird colonys. Met a RSPB volunteer who was very helpful and full of interesting information on Gannets. Unfortunately visitor centre shut for renovations but lovely day anyway. Fantastic Tree Sparrows everywhere.

This is where you can film or photograph several species of cliff dwelling birds, including gannets, gulls, cormorants and puffins. Probably the best time to visit would be in May, when most are nesting on the cliffs. The puffins are at their most colourful at this time, and in reasonably large numbers. The tracks will take you quite close to... More

Go to Bempton in the spring and see the Gannetts and Kittywakes nesting on the cliffs you may even be lucky enough to spot a Puffin. Then go up the road to Thornwick Bay have a cuppa in the little cafe and admire the scenery. A great day out.

Fantastic views and saw many different birds on the cliffs. An RSPB member was watching some ganets and told us all about them and let us watch them through her telescope. You can walk for miles. Shame the visitors centre was closed, but the RSPB lady said a new centre is to be opened at some point.

Yes, the visitor centre is now closed until Spring 2015. We have received both Heritage Lottery Funding and Coastal Communties Funding to make this possible. So it's a very exciting time for us. Meanwhile, it does mean there are no RSPB facilities available on the cliffs. But it will be worth it when our new development is complete next year.... More

Watching the gannets take of and land and hovering near the cliffs is fantastic I wish I had been here earlier in the breeding season to see more birds . The only disappointing thing was the price of some of the merchandise I know its how they make the money for the upkeep of the place but if they reduced... More

You're absolutely right, the goods in our shop do support our work. That said, we do try to keep them reasonably priced. However, we are to a certain degree governed by our suppliers and the fact that we stock merchandise of the high quality our visitors demand. Despite this we believe we represent good value and make every effort to... More

They had telescopes at various stopping point for us to view in more detail the Gannets nesting, the chicks and lots of other visiting birds. Visited on Friday as part of a photograph course. I had no visited for many years but upon a long over due return to improve my photography skills I was no disappointed. The views were brilliant and the birds were easy to see and photograph on the cliff edges. The RSPB shop also has some good camera links so you... More

I love this place, very nice view. However the distance is quite far from Bempton train station and it does not have any coach or taxi for transportation.

Yes, the nature of the cliffs means we are out on a limb - but that's also what makes us so special. Bempton village is a mile away and is served by regular buses from the nearest seaside town, Bridlington (No 504). For those who can manage the walk to the reserve, it's a lovely stroll and we have recently... More
