This was a very disappointing tour. I thought I would learn more about wine, how it is made, how to taste it, and would see how the grapes are grown. Instead I learned nothing. The guide that met us upon arrival immediately let us know that the wine being produced at the facility was not from grapes grown there. She... More

Arrived through Knosos, 15 minutes and you are there. The view is lovely and the winery is well designed with a crisp clean look. The winery tour (5 Euro ) was good interesting and we relaxed with their hypnotic film (don't fall asleep) ... Followed short wine tasting and nice gifts of their fine wine. Take some time to chill... More

We visited the winery on a day trip in Heraklion. The faculty was excellent, the guide who took us through the cellars was knowledgable and pleasant, and we thoroughly enjoyed the wine. Only one negative, and it's a big complaint..., is that we were required to sit through a silly film that was supposed to relate wine to mythology. The... More

Our travel agency TrueGreece arranged a culinary/wine tasting experience at Boutari. It was only me and my husband learning how to cook some Cretian plates. We learned how to do about 4 appetizers, one main course and a dessert. After we made preparations we had a wine tour and finally got to eat our creating while pairing it with some... More

Close to Knossos and a good place to visit after the ruins. The modern building is excellent but sadly there was not much information about wine making or much to see. The film they showed was not at all relevant to wine making and a little disappointing overall.

Boutari offers a new sleek tasting room with vistas of the Cretan wine country. It's just a few minutes drive from Knossos and is a great way to cool off after looking at ruins in the sun.

I was fortunate to visit the Boutari Winery in Crete as part of a small guided tour with a three-pronged focus: minoan sites, foods, and wines. Our group had arranged to have an actual lunch with the wine tasting. We began with a brief tour of the views of the vineyards, including an explanation of the changes in vines that... More

The guided Tour of one hoor started with a non impressive movie with bad English sound. The Tour through the small cellars was short. At the end there is Some wine tasting .They charge you 5 euro per person for this. Save your money and just buy a bottle of wine in the shop.

If you are staying in the town of Iraklion this is very close. It is also close to Knossos, so you can combine the 2 visits(do Knossos first!). When we arrived we saw an odd film about Crete history and a little about wines. Then we had a tasting of 3 different wines: a white, a red, and a desert... More

I liked the information about how the different types of wines were made and enjoyed the tasting session. However, the arty film at the start of the tour was irrelevant and far too long.
