theres not much to see. i went biking there once and it was a tough bike ride because of distance and the heat. the history of wall of tears is interesting. I would recommend Estero over Wall of tears if you are short on time

The history of this wall will definitely move you although the wall itself is not anything crazy. Overall the walk up to the wall was well worth it as we saw many giant tortoises and passed by beautiful beaches and mangroves. If you can go here by bike or on a hike do it. Not sure it is worth paying... More

I rented a bike, $2 and was able to enjoy what this island has to offer along the way. Flamingos (at Isabela wetlands) were a treat to watch, along with Sally Light-Foot Crabs and Ghost Crabs(the critters who make the holes in the beach) along various parts along the route. The best part about going on a bike, or walking,... More

There was a bit of a hype about this wall, and we got to hear the story a few times. It was a penal colony and to keep the prisoners busy (punishment I guess) they had to build/tear-down/rebuild this wall over and over again. You can take a taxi, a tour or just walk there yourself. We took a taxi... More

We were on a tour, and the Wall of Tears was included. While fairly interesting (it's a former penal colony ... a wall of stone that inmates were forced to build), it isn't what we came to the Galapagos to see. My suggestion ... if you have extra time, sure, but otherwise skip this attraction.

The wall itself is easily forgotten, but the story behind it intersting. But, the key to this trip is so many giant tortoises in the wild! Great photo opportunities!

Tip - get a taxi for about $20 to take you to all the sites on this road, the taxi will wait for you. Great to stop and see the history of the island.

The wall itself is not spectacular, but the walk up there is wonderful. There are beautiful small beaches with lots of iguanas and we saw six giant turtles on the way up there. No need to go on a tour - the paths are very well marked, and it's for free.

Tour guide to this site very informative about history and impact on the island. Saw a few tortoises around this area and lots of bird life. Close by is a look out with good views of the different vegetative zones

In Isabela island this tour was amazing! Rent a bike for US$2/hour, take the west road from Puerto Villamil and take the trail for wall of tears. There are many beaches and ponds in the way, you can go till the end, visit the wall, and go back stopping in all those places! The trail is perfect, with signs everywhere,... More
