Calle delle Botteghe and Salizada San Samuele deserve more mentions for the discerning shopper: Caigo de la Mar is run by a veteran fashionista and her husband and show-cases Cire Trudon, Fornasetti and very beautiful, individual lamps and home-decor items. Worth a wander down this side of Venice. Also for the art galleries.

My friend and I were in Venice last weekend and when a mutual friend suggested a rowing lesson, we were really keen to see what this entailed. We had both been to Venice before and so we were excited to see 'L'altra Venezia' and experience something a little different. We were not disappointed, Walter took us for a rowing lesson... More

My girlfriend is doing a Phd on Italian history of art, and wanted to avoid the turisitic clichès and experience a tour for better feeling and understanding the authentic culture and history of this incredible, mysterious, astonishing city. I have been several times in Venice and thought I'd have been a fantastic "Cicero". She insisted to book a tour with... More

What a great evening we have in Patrizia and Adriano's home (organised by Walter at L'Altra Venezia). Andrea was also brilliant as he accompanied us to help with the translation - our Italian is almost non-existent - and we had such a friendly welcome and such fun with our hosts. Patrizia got us to help with the food preparation and... More

I spent my honeymoon in Venice. What a lovely city!!!! To be honest everything won't be the same without our friendly tour guide Walter. This guy is just amazing. He knows Venezia very well and was doing his job with passion. I appreciated that tour more because now, I know that fantastic city's history. My wife and I will always... More

I tagged along with a friend who Walter is teaching to row: it was a wonderful experience. We met him near the arsenal and he rowed us into a sheltered basin: a sunny January day where we practiced manoevered his boat with various levels of skill. He's a great teacher, good company and to be on the water in Venice... More

We spent 3 hours with Andrea and it seemed like barely 20 minutes. The time flew by as we learned about the architecture of the buildings, how the city was built, the secrets of some very obscure art treasures and a great walk through this amazing city. Thank you Walter and Andrea. You gave us one wonderful day.

I had the luck to come accross Walter Fano after my company asked me to organise "something surprising and fun" for a gorup of managers who did not wish a classical cultural visit. Where to start? Well, Walter helped me organise a dress-up event in a famous Atelier and a photo shooting to go with it, both in the Atelier... More

An interesting and fun walk with Walter on an out of the ordinary itinerary of Venice through secretive Calle e Campielli (streets and squares) accompanied by beautiful and excellent actresses, in ornate Venetian costumes, who enthralled us with their theatrical representations of Libertine Venice .... a trip back to the past worth all of it!

This was a fun and informative tour of the Palazzo Ducale and St. Marks. Andrea, my guide, was fantastic and knowledgeable about the history of Venice. He was also great to talk to. We went into the palace and saw the main attractions and also crossed the Bridge of Sighs. I'm glad I took this tour because it helped me... More
