Im glad my friends and I did the ice trek. it was fun and exciting. The guides were really helpful and helped us with the right techniques to walk and climb with the crampons on. The trail and the views were breathtaking. Make sure to pack lunch, gatorade and sunscreen as the whole thing will take 3-4 hours depending on... More

We went on the standard Ice Falls Trek. It was just the two of us with our Guide, Ros. She was very thorough before heading out, getting our crampons and helmets fitted properly. We used our own hiking boots. It's about a 10 minute ride to the parking area down by the glacier. Lots of people were there without a... More

The ice fall treck was great. We had a really great time. CJ our guide was terrific, very informative and made us feel very safe. He showed us these innocent small puddles of water that are actually very very deep. I was very happy to be under his watchful eye. Thanks MICA and CJ!

We booked a glacier hiking tour with MICA guide to explore Matanuska, and we had an AMAZING time. Our guide, Brent, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about guiding. When we first got there, we learned that we were the only two people on the tour. We didn't think much about it then, but after a while, we realized that... More

The ice trek to Matanuska Glacier was an experience that we will never forget. The guides were very professional, knowledgable and friendly (Sage and Sarah). Not only did we experience the glacier, but we learned much about it. We were 2 families, with grandparents and had a private tour with 2 guides. This is THE trip that is not to... More

This Past July, my wife and I took our first trip to South-central Alaska with our sixteen-year-old son and ten-year-old daughter. It was a dream vacation & possibly a once-in-a-lifetime trip. We had only two weeks in Alaska, but were determined to cram a lot of adventure into that time via RV (Great Alaskan Holiday). We fished in Seward (with... More

This was our second booking with MICA Guides. We used them in 2013, also. We had an awesome experience hiking onto the Matanuska Glacier taking the Ice Fall Trek! Our guide, Sage, did a fantastic job of enlightening us on glacier characteristics, but also kept the conversation lively, fun, and all the time insuring that everything was done safely. Her... Great experiance of glacier hiking for family with MICA guide Sarah. She made our first and difficult glacier hiking seem easy by teaching us the duck walk and cowboy walk. She gave us confidance by beliving in us and said " You can do it"
