Butterfly sanctuary- not their season at the moment, they finish end if September. Butterflies need sodium for breeding & that's why they land on you. Butterflies are usually delicious & enjoyed by birds, snakes, lizards, rats & monkeys, but some taste foul & can be poisonous! There are several types of otters at the NFWC, some From the Pacific North... More

A great day out for young and old alike. The otters are amazing - so many of them and the deer are so tame - they just come up to you and search your pockets for treats! There are wolves, lynx, wallabies, badgers, foxes, owls and wild boar amongst others. Unfortunately we went on a rather cold and rainy day... More

Great for the little ones & clearly looked after by the friendly & informative team members Open all year we think & certainly worth the visit even in the winter especially if the weather looks half decent If there is a chance you could visit more than once with a young ( little ones ) family look at the season... We loved this place. Especially the otters. So noisy!! But cute. Wolves and wallabies. Wild boar and lynx. Our only regret is the dearth of butterflies in Nov. But there is a notice to that effect so that and logic would prepare you for that . Its very well laid out and ideal for a family trip. Take a picnic... More

We were visiting family in Bournemouth from America. We were looking for something that the adults and children would enjoy for the day. We all like animals and wildlife but we were not expecting the added bonus of the amazing playground with zip line. It would a great combination of activity for all ages and let our children burn off... More

My family and I visited the New Forest wildlife park during half term whilst on holiday down in the New Forest. We’d got a discount ticket off a website so only paid about £13 for all four of us, although I should add that even if we’d paid full price I’d still not of minded. We arrived about 5 minutes... I enjoy visiting this place because I am local to it, I wouldn't recommend people travelling long distance to visit. The otters aren't always out to be seen, the Owls often look grumpy and the deer even take themselves away from the crowds. There is an amazing play park there though. The prices are of fantastic value if you go... More

I was very disappointed by the paucity of animals in evidence. When we first got to the bison and red deer, there was absolutely no sign of the animals. Eventually one bison emerged from a stable and actually wandered up close to the fence, and then another bison emerged, but not for long. I think it was the red deer... More

Go here about once a year, and view the wolves and otters mostly, but try to see the lynx if I can. Is best to come here early and during term time, as the wolves tend to be out more while it is quiet, and few are about. So when lots of small kids turn up, it tends to scare... More

I enjoyed this with my husband a few years back but we recently visited with our 3 year old and she got bored very quickly, the otters were fab but many of the animals were asleep so out of view, my 3 year old that loves animals and has enjoyed visits to other local attractions with animals, was asking to...
