I like the treetop tower. It feels like you are at the top of the world. I find peace there and close to nature and away from the city. I dislike the mosquito there but if you use a good insect repellent, i'm sure you'll be fine.

In 2008 I had the good fortune of completing my undergraduate honours thesis at Chek Jawa, spending four months studying the intertidal community that calls the place home. I went back recently to see how the place was and I'm glad to see that the place was still teeming with life. I'm not sure if the guided mudwalks are still... More

We spend some great weekends at polau ubin, cycling , enjoying the nature, monkeys and wild pigs, fruit trees and mangrove walks. Fun activity to family and nature lovers.

Chek Jawa {open from 8am - 6pm} is an intertidal area, with its various eco-systems unveiled at low tides of 0.5 metres and below. Unfortunately when we reached, it was high tide so we missed seeing the rich marine life on the wetlands it is famous for. You should check the tides table to avoid disappointment. We did enjoy our... More

We were greeted by a family of friendly wild boars after alighting from our van. They went away when they realized that no food was forthcoming, The stroll on the broadwalk was relatively uneventful as the high tide meant the mud beds were covered by sea water and we did not get to see much, Personally I think Chek Jawa... The shore at Chek Jawa is brimming with life: sea snails, limpets, hermit crabs, oysters, lobster crabs, jellyfish, sea stars (five and six-legged ones), sponges, horse shoe crabs, sea cucumbers etc. Sign up with NParks. Only if you sign up with NParks, can you get to step down from the jetty onto the mudflats or sea bed (at low tide).... More

Right place for people who like to take a break from Singapore shopping\ eating and wander in the nature. Take a van\ cycle from the Pulau Ubin Jetty. Walk slowly along the boardwalk, you can see monitor lizard, wild boars, monkeys, lots of small fishes if you keep a close watch, sea weeds, mud skippers, small crabs, mangroves and loneliness.... Nice place to learn about the marine wildlife on this old reef site. Alternatively, it's also a nice place simply to sit, relax, and enjoy the sea breeze. The place is approx. 40 min by bicycle from the Pulau Ubin jetty terminal. Or around 10 min by van.

We rode on great bike trails to get to the wetlands, through fabulous rainforest, with huge trees, and wonderful wildlife. The tower over the boardwalk in the wetlands has most amazing view out to Malaysia and back to Singapore. Our guide from ubinkayak company told us about many of the sights we were seeing. I would like to go back... More
