After a long day of sight seeing, we visited the Happy Bay Beach at Saint Martin, on the French side of the island, a few minutes drive north of the tiny capital Marigot. We parked our car at the Friar's Bay Beach, and walked about 15 minutes north along a coastal walk path to the secluded Happy Bay Beach. We... More

A lovely quiet beach without any services. Bring food and water with you. The trail is rather rocky, and I agree about the cow patties - watch your step. It's well worth it though, if you want to avoid crowds. Good snorkeling at both ends of the bay. Tip: Get there early if you want to grab a spot under... More

One of our favorite spots in SXM. Unlike most of SXMs' beaches Happy has no hotels, villa's or beach bars in close proximity, so it's fully carry in/carry out. About half nude/half clothed. The walk is easy enough, just watch for cow s&*+ and half buried stones upon which it is easy to stub ones toes- especially in flip flops.... More

This was a nice quite beach. It is at the far end of Grand Case. I did not snorkel here but it looks like it could be a decent spot. There is a little shade and not many people on the beach. A nice little beach to check out on the French side of the island.

Not super easy to find, requiring dodging cows in a field to get to (at least the route we took). One almost chased us but turns out it was running past us not at us. Momentarily terrifying. But worth the trip. Very small so don't get too excited. Nude beach although only about five percent of the maybe twenty people... More

Happy Bay is not for everyone. When you start at Friar’s Bay, the stench from of rotting vegetation can be nauseous. As you enter the trail, you’ll wish you wore closed toe shoes as the trail is very rocky and uneven. Yes, my wife did stub her toes and I saved the day with a band-aid! Next, we encountered numerous... More

We liked this beach because it was secluded and private. You have to park at Friar's Bay Beach and then walk the short trail to Happy Bay. The trail is easy to walk and takes about 10 minutes. I noticed other people's comments on the cow patties - there are some, but I didn't find that it made the trail... More

THis beach is a little out of the way but worth finding. Beautiful bay and watching the tours stop to snorkel is entertaining. Clean beach - fun people watching. Great for couples and families. Being your own umbrella and chairs if you need them. No rentals available. Sometimes you can buy ribs and drinks at a small beach vendor but... More

We debated on whether or not to brave the "hike" to this beach but are so glad that we did. It's absolutely beautiful and the hike is not challenging at all. We took the trail from Friar's Bay but heard there was also a trail at the south end of Grand Case. The trip from Friar's Bay was quick and... More
