It is a hump through what feels like other peoples property. Wear good shoes and just stay on the trail, you will get there. It was beautiful and mostly empty. The sand is a little rocky but it was really a great spot.

You can only access this beach by trail from Friar's Bay. It's about a 15 minute walk, with many rocks and difficult terrain. I had flip flops on and it was not easy hiking, but worth the trip. The beach is quiet and serene, and very pretty. Tops optional.

You will find This beach after about a mile hike (with a trail), and absolutely worth it. You can wear flip flops for it, but sneakers are probably better if you have bad ankles. The beach itself is stunning, clean and secluded. If you want a quiet beach experience, this is your spot.

We were told about Happy Bay Beach and decided to check it out. You can't drive there. You drive to Friar's beach and then at the far end of Friars there is a path that goes up over the hill, across a meadow and then down the other side. A little rocky on the path but not too difficult. About... More

This was the last of the beaches we visited on St Martin, and was by far our favorite out of all (Maho, Cupecoy, Mullet Bay, Orient). We parked in the public parking at Friars Bay and walked to the other end of the beach to the trail. Its a good 15 minute hike through the woods on a trail, we... More

We've been to most of the beaches on the island and so we wanted to see this one as well. It wasn't as crowded as some, so it was decently quiet. Yes, there are nude sunbathers. There is a lolo serving drinks and food, I saw. It was a nice short hike and we saw a few iguanas on the... More

Park your car at Friar's Bay and take a 10-minute walk/hike to Happy Bay Beach. Pack your own water, towel, snacks and a beach chair if you like. This beach is somewhat secluded and will feel private to you because it's not crowded. It's clean, beautiful and seems to be some sort of secret.. there probably weren't more than 30... More

On the French side, beaches are clothing optional. This is the only beach we visited where that was in full force. If you are offended by nudity or have small children, this would be a good beach to pass by. Beach itself has several rock ledges and drops off fairly quickly making swimming in rough seas a bit difficult.

If I could give this slice of heaven ten stars, I would. Nestled between Grande Case and Friar's Bay is this small secluded clothing optional beach that is not frequented by tourists. You have to walk over a half mile from either Friar's Bay around the cliffs or from the main road in Grande Case to get there. But once... More
