Meghamalai is a nuclear family in its population & outreach. Many people don't know about this treasure & people there are not too exposing it as a tourist spot. Meghamalai mainly concentrates on TEA Cultivation & that's the main source of income for the people. You need to know people there to access some of the places. Me & my... More

Amazing scenery and unexplored forests. Very bad roads (Only plan with 4x4 or SUV with a good ground clearance). Highwavy panchayath has travelers rooms which is around 30 kms uphill from Chinnamannur,

One of the best places I have ever visited. However, we have the worst roads to reach this place. Hatchbacks & Sedans - very bad idea. SUV/4W - Can survive. Lorry - Best. Though lorry cannot be our option, use bikes to reach this place. You have a small shop in between with a parking space. You could relax there.... More

Along with 5 of my friends, we planned to Visit Meghamalai on Nov 14,15. We booked train tickets to Madurai and had arranged for a Tavera car . We finished our fresh up and breakfast in Madurai and started our trip. The route to the hills entry goes via Theni and Chinnamanur. It took us arounf 1.15 to 1.30 hours... More

After looking into all the blogs, i thought that i can also write a cover story after moving to meghamalai, but things you need to consider before moving there : Government had not taken steps to even make the roads better, this will make you stressed and tired before moving to your locality. The Place is less dense and moreover... More

Meghamalai - A little unknown hill station in Tamil Nadu bordered by the beautiful Western Ghats & its enchanting 7 Tea Estates. To begin with there are not much information available about the place - handful of blogs and thats about it. With the onset of Monsoons in June, It was time we visit this not-so-frequented destination.

We visited Meghamalai during December 2013. This is an entirely different hill station. Meghamalai will thrill you with its natural beauty. ...... but the roads..... it will keep you down. ... meghamalai is truly the most unexplored hill station in South India. Virgin land untouched by commercialisation. .... what a beauty.... what a fresh feeling. .... air..... water.... everything fresh.... More

Meghamalai is a scenic place dotted with tea estates and cardamom plantations. Situated at an elevation of 1500 metres above sea level, the place is rich in flora and fauna. The place is located at 43 km from the forest checkpost at Chinnamalur. This 43 km takes an insanely 4 hours to reach!. Would recommend either a Tractor or mountain bike. Repair expenditure of a normal car would be in thousands plus the life of the car gets reduced by a few years. We started the journey at 9 pm... More

We set off to Meghamalai around the 1st week of April 2013. Online bookings to Meghamalai resort (14 kms before Meghamalai village). The road from the foot hills (starting 20 kms from Theni township) to the resort and beyond was very bad (the last it was laid about 30 years back), you could only ride on rocks and boulders !!!!...
