Off the beaten track but it is 3.5 hours north in a taxi. You should get the cab for between $35 and $40. The shuttle bus is $9, takes forever and is not air conditioned. It goes via Ubud.

Crystal blue waters you can even see the bottom from boat. Early morning rush to see Dolphins is an amazing experience. Almost 100 boats running alongside in search of the dancing jumping Dolphins is a never to be missed sight. Courteous boatmen they explain the whole journey. The mad rush of all boats to the spot whenever a Dolphin gets... More

Nice place, nice beach, black sand. Good chance to see dolphins in early morning trip. Dolphin statue called Pantai Lovina with few restaurants and shops.Nothing to see at Lovina other than this.

Lovina had the problem as a lot of towns in Asia, that everywhere you find a lot of empty plastic bottles and garbage. But since 1 year the government of north Bali and also the people started to clean up their beaches and make them nice. Lovina beach has now also a place where there are fixed stands for the... It's an early get up but it's worth it , we went with Gede Gudur ( 081337354499 ) , Dolphin dreaming is the name of the boat . We went in low season , so only 25 boats on the sea ( in summer around 150) we stay very long so in the end we where only with 5 boats... More

We had the weirdest time coming to Lovina beach, which we heard was a popular beach on the north coast of Bali. We did not go to see the dolphins (I'm terrified of those tiny boats) but went to see the beach and the shops. Our driver from the resort stopped to get directions from a local who then "showed... The beach is long but only c.10-20m wide and in places as you walk along the fishing boats take up the whole width and your walking in the surf. The biggest problem is the rubbish, it washed down one of the many streams (thrown in by people further up) and then back washed onto the beach. Every now and then... More

Lovina beach is a great beach because it is different that those in the South. The black sand from the volcano makes it's unique but not really comfortable to walk in. You can go dolphin watching in morning and watch the sunset while the boats leave shore.

If you come to Bali, go to Lovina in the northern part of the island to watch shoals of dolphins playing in the sea early in the morning. We put up at a four-star hotel at the sea front. That will save us the trouble of getting up early in the morning to go out to sea to watch the... More

This is a very small precious side of Bali. It is not affected by the same Annual Trash Expo seen at Seminyak beach in December. (I wonder how much longer we humans will keep it that way)
