The beach is long but only c.10-20m wide and in places as you walk along the fishing boats take up the whole width and your walking in the surf. The biggest problem is the rubbish, it washed down one of the many streams (thrown in by people further up) and then back washed onto the beach. Every now and then... More

Lovina beach is a great beach because it is different that those in the South. The black sand from the volcano makes it's unique but not really comfortable to walk in. You can go dolphin watching in morning and watch the sunset while the boats leave shore.

If you come to Bali, go to Lovina in the northern part of the island to watch shoals of dolphins playing in the sea early in the morning. We put up at a four-star hotel at the sea front. That will save us the trouble of getting up early in the morning to go out to sea to watch the... More

This is a very small precious side of Bali. It is not affected by the same Annual Trash Expo seen at Seminyak beach in December. (I wonder how much longer we humans will keep it that way)

After reading all the reviews I thought how bad can it be - well it's worse! They just dump ALL rubbish bins on the beach and leave it rotting there. Few hotels along the beach seem to be good but there's nothing here to do. Just stranded in rubbish!

I guess this beach is alright, but the dark sand gives the impression that the water is dirty. There is also a bit too much trash along some stretches to be acceptable.

Not too many nice things you can see in this area, except for the dolphins. Other thing we can see is the coral and blue starfish. It was quite fun though. Lovina beach is the cheap area in Bali. . So far only in this area we can get cheap meal. First time ever we only paid IDR 65.000 for... More

Narrow beach with dark sand. Unfortunately, the beaches in this area have considerable amounts of trash upon them. The locals must throw their trash in the ocean and it washes up on shore. I saw people raking up the trash each day and hauling it off but more arrives with each incoming tide.

Water is not ideal for swimming. Good local and tourist markets.Good for walks and drinks at the many beachside bars
