The water is very clear, clean and warm...

Ok, the beach isn't brilliant - black sand and fairly short. But the water is wonderful. Very clear (we went snorkelling five times in it so we did look!) and warm. The dolphin... read more

After seeing the Temple on the lake it was suggested to visit Lovina Beach, being only an hour more away, and offer a different view of the island contrasted to the fast pace of Kuta. It was like almost 2 hours+ more on the winding road down from the mountain, and upon arrival were curious to know if we were... More

Quiet and practice beach. Easy to access and not far from central lovina strip. Fair share of sellers though all are friendly. Beach not 'white sands' more dirty and very course sand which can be uncomfortable. Although very peaceful and quiet with few sunbathers. Worth a visit for a relaxing day!

Ok, the beach isn't brilliant - black sand and fairly short. But the water is wonderful. Very clear (we went snorkelling five times in it so we did look!) and warm. The dolphin trips in the mornings are also well worth it - great fun and lovely Dolphins. My advice - stay in a nice hotel on the beach....

The black volcanic sands of Lovina Beach are a complete contrast to the sands of Kuta and Sunur and the area offers excellent resorts and eateries for the travellers who want something different. We visited briefly in May 2015 and then stayed for a week in July/August 2015. In addition, the three to four hour drive from Kuta offers a... More

We befriended a local and he took us to a place that is less traveled. Sand was clear, litter was little and we made a bonfire in the evening. Memorable experience shared between a couple of ladies from Sweden my buddy and the local friend. Not a particularly attractive place should you be traveling solo.

We spent one day visiting black sand Lovina beach. My key disappointment was its dirtiness; I simply did not dare to enter the water even though there were some courageous (or unconscious) people playing in it. Speaking about beaches' cleanliness, for your information, the only places in Bali where personally I wasn't disgusted, were Nusa Dua and Sanur.

The water seemed quite dirty and foamy, definitely not appealing to go in. Quite a lot of people trying to sell you things. We came here for a bit but then decided to go back to our pool at the hotel because it was more pleasurable.

I was here at 3 PM from Denpasar and there are no dolphins, the sands are black... Not good enough for me, the beach not quite many of peoples. Like a death beach. But the sunset is good.
