Lovina Beach (or often simply Lovina) is a coastal area on the northwestern side of the island of Bali, Indonesia. The coastal strip stretches from 5 km west of the city of Singaraja to 15 km west. Singaraja is the seat of Buleleng Regency. The Lovina area contains the small villages (from east to west) of Pemaron, Tukad Mungga, Anturan,... More

We came here with great expectations but were very disappointed on arrival. Due to daily rainfall sea water is muddy and dirty and the beaches in Kalibukbuk area are filled with pure garbage as well as organic natural waste. Waste pipes drain all sorts of stuff constantly from the land straight in to the sea. Don't know if it's due... More

We went Lovina for a look when we visited Lovina and like all beaches in Bali during the wet season it had a lot of trash and vegetation on the beach.

A very exciting boat ride chasing the dolphins from the village around Lovina. Be warned that the boats are small motorised ones wherein it is so narrow that one can sit only one behind the other. Maximum of 6 passengers. Get ready to get fully wet with the water splashing over the stabilisers. We are glad, we carried only our... More

A bit far (2.5 hrs from Kuta) journey but note that it is worthy enough to wake up 3 am and went to see the dolphins. You will be taken to in the middle of sea in a small boat (group of 3-5 ppl max) and you will feel amuse to see dolphin coming at the time of sunrise. We... More

The black sand beach is a nice place to walk, especially in the evening. There are a number of men who will approach to "talk," but they are really selling their wares, which gets old after a while. Snorkeling is good in the reef just off the beach. Lots of colorful fish.

The unspoiled Balinese people are still from the local villages and love to smile, talk, and make friends with the tourists. A very human, slow-paced, relaxing destination. Great shopping at local prices--go to Hardy's in nearby Singaraja!

To watch a dolphin you have to come early morning and rent a small boat to get there. About 30 or 45 minutes in the middle of sea then the boat will looking for dolphin trace (it's looks like there are some heavy movement in the water, and sometimes a jump!!!) after found that the boat will follow the dolphin... Off the beaten track but it is 3.5 hours north in a taxi. You should get the cab for between $35 and $40. The shuttle bus is $9, takes forever and is not air conditioned. It goes via Ubud.
