Old castle, with a long lasting history. Beautiful building, nice gardens. My feeling is that the castle need better maintenance. There is mold smell. But who cares. The place is really beautiful, nice to see. Good location, easy to find, especially by GPS. There is free car park nearby.

I've been told that this is "Les Versailles Belge". In fact, I didn't expected so much, but I was really desappointed. The castle needs a restoration. There is a free parking and if you love castles, it is not bad to see it, but keep your expectations low. In addition, you can take a walk in the gardens.

Happened to visit on the day of a town festival, complete with "giants" and lots of bands in a parade of sorts. Great fun to mingle with some ordinary folks, eat festival food (the same the world over -- fried dough with sugar...delicious!) and drink fabulous Belgian beer. Someone else called the chateau "shabby," and it is that around the... More

For over 20 years, this park receives the biggest manifestation of classical music. About 15.000 people stroll around the park to enjoy the performances of the artists on the numerous stages of this huge music festival. There were many families, people of all ages actually. I took my three kids along, ages ranging 12 to 9. We spent all day... More

I expected a mini-Versailles, but was disappointed with the state of Beloeil. We visited on a beautiful summer day but found a chateau in a very sad, shabby state -- definitely in need of much restoration work. The gardens were neglected and overgrown, which meant lots of bugs. All the ponds were dirty with lots of green gunk.

The park is impressive, particularly when the day is sunny. The interior looks almost like that of a royal palace. Plenty of old furniture and paintings all around. You have the impression of entering an only recently deserted palace, not a museum. In the small shop they sell beer from the region and "wine of the Princes of Ligne" (the... More
