Definitely worth the boat ride. The colorful houses and beautiful parks. We got there after the lace factories were closed, but we would have enjoyed touring those. Sunset on the island, then dinner, was wonderful

Visiting Murano is not enough. To complete the islands tour, a visit to Burano and then Torcello is mandatory! This island is colourful and quieter than Venice and gives the impression to stay in a painting. Time has stopped there and while walking through the charming streets, have a look at the lace works exposed in the local shops. I...

I feel people don’t talk about Burano enough. We went there almost by chance, when locals said it’s worth a visit. And then when we got there, we wished we went there earlier. It’s so charming, with its quaint colored houses, and the reflection on the canals. And its smallness and slight remoteness meant not many tourists around, which made...

All the bold, bright, cheerful colors make you happy!!!!! Cute housing, windows, doors, flowers... This island makes you happy. Thats enough! Take more than an hour to go there (include the waiting time). But the transportation is convenient!
While you're on the vaporetto to Burano, I recommend you review in your head (or on your camera) the pictures you took in Venice and Murano. Then look at Burano. The colours make the whole island look so alive, so.. Joyful! After having seen it, I've decided it is one of my new favourite places.
We recently visited this pretty part of Venice.
It's lovely with an old world charm. Although not particularly bothered about lace, it's still worth a visit, with some lovely bars and restaurants, particularly QUARTA GENERAZIONE snack bar, a family restaurant with lovely food and Spritz appertife a Venetian speciality. The address is via GALUPPI 359, 041.730108. If anyone found a...

Burano is wonderful!!! When I visited, it was a rainy day, but the beautiful houses made it seem like the sunniest day of all year! I loved the whole color effect of the small city, and the houses were extremely clean and tidy. I think the people in Burano really pay attention to all the details, and I find that...

Upon arriving in Burano you feel like you have escaped the hustle and bustle of Venice and arrived in a serene, colorful and clean (compared to Venice) place. It is very relaxing and a great contrast to the excitement and hustle of getting around Venice.
The shops aren't particularly appealing for my taste, but meandering through the colorful neighborhoods, people...

Its beautiful, quiet and so serene. Away from the buzz of Venice, this place is worth a half day trip. The journey of the vaporetto takes about 30-45 mins. You need to change boat at Murano if you are taking 4.2 from the railway station. And don't get mixed up between Murano and Burano (that's what happened to us).
A...

If you plan to visit Venice do not skip this Island. It is only 45min by boat to the north of Venice and is one of the most pictoresque places that I have visited. You will not be able to put down your camera. Forget Disneyland, this place looks real. It has lots of good seafood restaurants and nice souvenir...
