Be aware that this is basically a man-made nature amusement park. In spite of that, we had fun. We went during winter time when the lake was frozen and there was nobody about - the ice is thick enough that you can ride a makeshift sled across. You have to cross the lake (which you have to pay for, all... More

It is not easy to find in China a place that you can rest in the natural surroundings not far from the city. Sand lake is just 37km from Yinchuan or half-hour drive distance. In case you have a free day and it is hot summer day - you can relax there enjoying swimming, sledging of the sand dunes, travel... More

A weird place found in the middle of nowhere in a western oligarch province of china. I don't blame the people searching fun and distraction from a hard life with strong winters and hot and dry summer. Beware: this place is created for mass tourism. It's not bad, the masses are carried around efficient, the attractions are great for burn... More

if not for the great view from the top of the sand dune, this is an average place. May appeal to the locals only. A short speedboat ride to the sand dunes followed by a 5mins walk up the top for the view of the surrounding area. There are the usual attractions like camel rides, biking, gliding, kiddy rides, etc.... More

While billed as an "ecological preserve", the primary attractions available are those available at an island you get to after taking a boat ride. There are marsh rushes to see, but nothing very spectacular. On the island, the attractions like paragliding over the lake, camel rides, a tram ride to the top of a sandy mountain, rolling in a clear... More

This is one of Ningxia's most popular attractions and it has a lot going for it. There are a decent variety of sand and water based activities, but be aware that everything inside costs extra, so costs could mount up rather quickly.
