A very interesting museum in a quirky interesting house. No too big or over-facing but full of interesting objects. Could happily visit again

The Topsham Museum is housed in an attractive seventeenth century house which belonged to a notable local family. It has been nicely organized to tell an interesting local story about shipbuilding, fishing, trade and local people in Topsham - as well as the relationship of one resident with Vivien Leigh. The museum has been extended and tastefully modernized to house... More

If you want to spend an hour or so in a traditional Topsham house to discover the history of the area and the family that lived there you will not be disappointed. Local volunteers similar to the National Trust will answer all your questions. There is also a café in the garden. Free entrance.

Really worth a visit to learn about Topsham's past. What makes this stand out is that it is run entirely by volunteers. It is easily at the standard of the best National Trust exhibits and brings the towns past to life. Also has a good tea shop situated in a lovely garden and courtyard.

Excellent museum and worthy of the beautiful town of Topsham as it nestles by the Exe estuary. Visit during the summer months and enjoy a proper Devonshire tea with real homemade cakes. It's a treat in store and not to be missed.

What a lovely little place, well worth a wonder down to, in a quaint old English fishing village. With the bonus of a little cafe with great cream teas.

This place is run by volunteers and proved to be a little gem. Kids will love it cos it's not too big and you'll be round it in 20-30. minutes. There is a little cafe which serves teas and coffees.

I have visited Topsham Museum a number of times. It is small but beautifully laid out and very well kept (by volunteers) with informative and interesting displays. They serve good teas too. And all in a delightful setting.
