This really is a gem of a museum with an excellent seafaring section all about Topsham in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Then you have the original house depicting furnished period rooms. Outside you have what I would describe as a secret garden with old boats and you can sit there and drink tea from the cafe which also... More

This museum has some great exhibits for all. Very interesting with staff on hand to give you pointers to any information you require plus how to get the best from your visit. There are plenty of little known facts from history stored here. Facilities to trace relatives who have lived in this area. There is a lift to the sail... More

A small museum, housed in some 17th century buildings near the river. It's small size adds to it's appeal and it houses a lot of interesting items, many relevant to the town and area, such as wildlife of the Exe estuary. A unique exhibit is some memorabilia of the actress Vivien Leigh, who had a connection with the town. There... More

The museum has had a facelift in recent years. We visited here many years ago when it was tiny! Also been recently. There is a small cafe & various things to see over 2 floors. Very good .Not always open, best to check before you go!Have fun.

Free entry, took my 6 year old granddaughter during half term, we had a great time making a mosaic, matching beaks and feet to birds, dressing up in Egyptian costumes, looking at a model of Exeter before the bombing. We will be going again as we ran out of time to see everything.

The Topsham Museum is very interesting, especially the kitchen with old cooker etc. Lovely cup of tea and beautiful cake in the cafe which can be eaten in the garden if weather is good, there is also a 2nd garden across the road looking across the estuary.

It was a little hard to find and very close to the amazing goat walk. The opening times off peak are a little hap hazard but you have to expect that from a place that is run by volunteers. I found out that my grandad landed here after his evacuation from dunkirk. He piloted the Mau topsham lighter back to... More

It may not be open every day--or even every month as it is closed November through spring but it is worth coming in for a browse if you are in town. Free admission, some interesting exhibits, a river garden for viewing the sunset (one of the best public river views in Topsham). Free admission, a nice spot for homemade cakes... More

Had been meaning to visit the museum for some time and it didn't disappoint. Lovely old fashioned museum with a wonderful eclectic collection especially Scarlett O'Haras nightdress! The free entry was a bonus.
