I have visited Topsham Museum a number of times. It is small but beautifully laid out and very well kept (by volunteers) with informative and interesting displays. They serve good teas too. And all in a delightful setting.

The museum is only open some afternoons between Easter and October ,but the gardens situated on the opposite side of the road are open every day all the year and offer seats and river views. Hence it is an excellent place just to sit and relax. The Museum itself is in a 17th Century Merchants house and some of the... More

Although we couldn't find out much about our family history, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They had interesting displays and it was an easy museum to get around. The afternoon tea of scones, jam and cream was also excellent. A lot of volunteers in a very community minded little town.

A very interesting quaint place. Lovely to see and read all about the local life from years gone by. Well kept. Loved the entrance with the little garden across the road,on the rivers edge.

A charming and free museum which will give you an excellent feel for the history of Topsham in a non threatening way. Also there is a delightful teashop and, weather permitting, you can enjoy your tea in the pretty garden. My only reservation was the occasional intrusion of the daft 21st century invitation to consider how you would have felt.

I believe this was a private house left to Topsham to use as a Museum ,if you are interested in history this is the place to go to there are some great stories going back to the 1600s ,when it was used as a major port and was used right up until recent years .It is very well stocked with... More
