My husband is a golfer and researched several courses before our trip to Lake Tahoe. This course was challenging and fun! I enjoy golf and wanted to ride along. There was a $20 rider fee that we weren't expecting. Still, we had a good time and the pace was pleasant; they are very strict on time. Know your golf etiquette... More

This is not an extremely difficult golf course, but it is fair, fun and very interesting. The staff, headed by General Manager Kevin Summerfeld, are always nice and helpful. I've played here for about 25+ years and I always enjoy the experience....If you are looking for a fun round of golf in a beautiful setting give this a try. Mike

American Golf Corp is famous for its average courses. LTGC is neither long nor short; neither hard nor easy; neither pristine nor ragged; neither outrageous nor a bargain. The greens are smooth but slow. The fairways are green and spongy. Nothing special except the setting. And that is very special.

The course was too long for my wife from her normal tees. There was a shorter set of tees called family tees, but that was like an executive course in length and most holes had no tee box for that set of tees. The course was in good condition but the pace of play was almost 5 hours.

I played June 26th, 2014 and found the course in generally nice condition with the exception of the greens. They were bumpy and needed cutting and rolling. They had good grass coverage, just needed attention to making them smooth.... Pricing is excessive for this quality course, but they are the only course in the area. Green fees are about $90... More

This public course is in a meadow, with several water hazards and shallow bunkers. Played the black tees at 6300 yards, and it played much shorter because of the elevation. Greens were a bit bumpy, and a few had difficult breaks. But generally the greens were pretty flat. Fairways were pretty open and firm to give the ball extra roll.... More

This course was in very good shape and pro golfers would like the fast greens which took some getting used to for us. I rented clubs and they were very nice Cobras. Bag even had golf balls which was a plus because on the back 9 a scenic stream and rough places to hit over ate the balls I brought.... More

Considering how pricey some other courses are, this seemed the main choice for 18 holes at South Lake. I found the course a bit scaggly in some areas, but overall it was a fun day. The front 9 is much easier, and the back trickier. More trees and rough to hit over. The scenery is lovely. The staff was mostly... More

Very nice golf, and I enjoyed walking the course. Friendly and accomodating staff plus a golf course in great condition with nice mountain and river views. Great alternative to the more expensive Edgewood, which is actually on the lake.

Played two rounds the last week of August 2012 and the course was in really good shape. Some of the reviews indicated "dry fairways" but if anything - they were over watered. You can't beat the vistas surrounding the course (even if the damage from the Angora Fire is still visible). The streams and creeks that run through the course... More
