The Gondola at Heavenly is definitely worth a visit! The view are amazing! While the ticket price is a bit steep, the adventure area at the top of the gondola has activities, such as zip lining, and a bar and grill. The village, where the gondola is located, has several bars and restaurants, as well as an ice skating rink!... more

Unfortunately this well regarded attraction was not available. The signs said closed for maintenance in preparation for the ski season until 11/21, and then was extended to 11/28 on site. No web site, including Heavenly, warned of this. Fair warning for those who may choose this location to stay at for ease of access up the mountain. more

This is a must-do if you visit Tahoe. The view is similar to what you would get from a small airplane. It's not terribly scary riding up.
